I have thought about doing a small film on how to get the most out of ATRAC. I've been wheeling very hard for 6 years with this system and have only found a few limitations on it. I thought about doing a thread on it with some tips, tricks, etc. But I could only imagine how that would turn out. Plus there are many threads about it. If I do get enough interest I'll write a small techy thread on it.

I say do the thread. We all need the tricks. Or send me a PM with the tricks. I am going to Uwharrie Saturday and need all the assistance I can get. I do have actual tread on my tires this time and my 2 little girls will not be in the back seats.

Will do, I'll start working on an outline. It's finals week so it won't be tonight. But I'll make it happen by Friday-ish.

Not just airing down...Airing down the right about relative to the tire type and weight of your vehicle. Big thing I've learned is that the biggest changes happen within the final 1-2 lbs. I used to go down to 20 psi before reading an article that said to record bottom of rim to ground then air down till you get to 75% of that measurement.

what do you go to now? I usually do 15 if wet, 18 if dry. I run 35psi usually.

he forgot to leave it at camp or put it in cargo area this time
At the original 4x4 trails there...they had one that was downhill...you slide 50 yards and then have 10 yards of flat stepped area to stop before the next slide downhill. Had to stay off footbrake...use low gear and hope for the best...if anything rear parking brake only. I was glad I went down first on that one.

but maybe a thing for us that says "you'll be watching for 5 minutes while someone deflates his/her tyre(s) so keep watching....."
coz when i see a video like that, with a nice meaty tyre like that and someone letting the air out, i expect that they'll start wheelin' in that video so i'll wait for it

I ran that same trail last winter. I went down it so fast and out of control all 4 wheels left the ground multiple times and I bought some new shorts later that day. It was icy, snowing, and muddy all at the same time. Worst/best wheeling ever.

How to post a YouTube video on an IH8MUD thread
1. Go to the YouTube video you would like to post and select and copy the part of the URL that is after the equal (=) sign.
2. Go to the thread you would like to post the video in and click the post reply button located at the end of the thread towards the left.
3. In the message body, type your comment about the video. (this is the text part)
4. When you reach the point where you would like the video inserted into your post, type exactly what you see in the next picture.
5. Paste the code that you copied from step #1.
6. Type exactly what you see in the next picture.
7. Before you hit the Submit Reply button you post should look something like this. You can even select the Preview Post button to test your work before submitting the post to the thread.

Finally got around to watching that episode this morning. That was awesome! Probably the best overland video I have seen. I loved how the 100 went from bone stock to ARB/lift/black rims throughout the video.
(my favorite part was the disco on the trailer and the yota's pulling away into the sunset

He shotts, how does that ride after all those years on the trail? Everything still tight? Transmission still smooth? No pun intended.
Like new! Really! Oh there's a few things that are not perfect though they are repeat offenders.
*Loose steering rack again. No leaks yet. Plenty of play though.
*Dead CD player again. Time to go after market finally.
*Overall there's no rattles, leaks, nothing.
