Got it used locally off craigslist. It's a "Grill Guard" with out the headlight covers.
Took a quick weekend camping trip to Joshua Tree NP. Spent a couple more nights in the RTT (helping with my goal to bring the cost/night down below the price of a room at the Four Seasons) and put in some some miles on the Slee springs.
Despite comically incorrect information on trail status, managed to pretty easily tackle Old Dale Road coming north from the park onto BLM land and eventually Gold Crown Road. Joshua Tree NP staff said I'd need 4 spare tires and an extreme "4x4" and that the road was completely impassable. Not so.
The trail starts to get interesting after this sign...
Slee's springs did great (not surprisingly), very easily handling the extra weight of a ton of camping gear, the tent, kids, etc.
Lots of interesting mines to explore here (Old Dale Mining District) and a ton of small trails to venture off on.
The next day, took Geology Tour Road to Berdoo Canyon. Was also told this canyon trail was not passable. What's with the park staff here? Other than a bunch of sharp rocks through the tighter parts of the canyon and the unnerving mashup of Bud Light and shotguns which is apparently common on the Indio end of this trail, this was a relatively easy trip.
Drove both of those tracks back in the spring. I found them pretty mild as well. Really scenic and interesting though. You gotta remember that average Joe has no idea what a 4wd can do and Park staff also need to cover their butts. When I got to the entrance of Berdoo Canyon there were three young guys in a rental car looking for a shortcut to Palm Springs.
They had gone down the first step when they realized they were being stupid. However they couldn't get back up. Haha. Needless to say they were happy to see me.I was amazed by how many open mines there were on the Old Dale rd.

In case you were wondering…opening in rear fits 2 single box springs and 2 single mattresses flush. Rear seats still upright - I have a baby seat on second row and didn't feel like removing. Plus, I was only going down the street.

Snowboarding Snowshoe, WV - best place within reasonable driving distance for me... Conditions were great with about 2ft of fresh snow in the few days we were riding... saw quite a few Cruisers on the mountain... another pic so I don't get deleted...
I got back from vacation to see my white 100 buried in over a foot of snow.
NotSureIfSerious.
Past four days had over 20 inches of snow. Just been having fun!
