If you had to choose 1 which would it be? and why? Just in the market for either one so I am wondering what your opinion is.

That is a very tough decision, i prefer driving the LX more but in the long run the LC will retain it's value much better. If you're in the market, you can't go wrong with either one, find a rust free well maintained 100 and enjoy it. These are special vehicles and are getting harder to find in rust free/good shape.

I am coming from the 80 world. (3X locked Collector's Edition that was recently stolen ) I wonder why the LX is often cheaper than the LC when it's basically the same. Do you think it's just the styling differences?

Cult following, LC carries the badge and heritage and you can argue that it looks better. However the LX just rides smoother and can do everything the LC can.

I passed over a bunch of really nice LX470's just based on looks before I bought my LC.

What was the main thing looks wise that made you not choose the LX...was it the hood? I prefer the LC

People don’t like the LX headlights and the side body cladding being too big. LC looks simpler and more handsome.

If I was to do it over… I’d buy an LX and face swap it. The Cygnus exists so, why not?

I have matching paint LC and LX it wouldn't be hard for me to swap, but then resale of the LC with LX front end would be horrible lol. Do they share the same fenders? I just need to swap the hood and bumpers and lights i think.

I think the fenders are the same? At a minimum the hood and the entire facia would need swapped.

IMO the LC tailgate is preferable as the LX reverse lights rob a lot of storage space, LC rack is longer/better and obviously the LX body cladding is trash. So a bit of mixing, matching and paintwork to create the ultimate UZJ

Lots of nitpicking going on here between LC and LX. The outside looks are just skin deep - you get over them really quickly, IMHO. And once you do, you will start appreciating the how LX is objectively better than LC. You get better interior quality materials, better sound proofing, factory tint, powr folding mirrors etc.
On top of that, LX were better cared for by the rich soccer moms and were sold in larger numbers so they are easier to find and because average joe is clueless about their heritage they don't command the same price as an LC.

I am on my second LX and I can tell you the looks grow on you!

I just can't get past the headlights. I had the same problems when Xterras switched from the square headlights to round ones. Maybe I’m just a square too lol. I’ll probably end up getting an lx at some point though. I do wish I knew how the ahc suspension rode.

hey boss, like the look of your LC with the nomad wheels, what tire size are you running , and did you lift the suspension?

I just can't get past the headlights. I had the same problems when Xterras switched from the square headlights to round ones. Maybe I’m just a square too lol. I’ll probably end up getting an lx at some point though. I do wish I knew how the ahc suspension rode.

Speaking of the headlight differences my 05 Land Cruiser has glass headlights.

Not sure of the specifics between models, but I believe (most?) LX's have plastic headlights.

My glass headlights still look brand new. No hassling with polishing / restoring needed.

Yep I do really like the glass headlights.

LX had glass headlights 98-2002...03+ they went to plastic

LC 98-2005 were glass....06+ were plastic

Cool, didn’t know that about the Lx. Guess I’ll look for a 98-02 LX when the time comes to try it out. Thanks

I wouldn't trade glass headlights for a 5spd trans in the 03+ LX though

Recently acquired 2006 V8, with 113k kms on the clock.

So far proving to be a terrific family adventure mobile. In this pic, my kids are sitting in the back eating dinner before a quick swim. Love that split tailgate!

The split tailgate is one of our favorite parts too! We were pretty sad when we found out the 300 series stopped having them.

I had a 300 on order and when it came in I told the salesman I couldn’t live with the hatchback and kept my 21 LX 570. I now have a 25 LX700H coming in and I’m not sure if I’ll take it. I love my current 570.
