Well you can't technically drive over Argentine. Mosquito still wins for driveable. just kidding around. I am gonna take some outa towners to Argentine next week.

To keep it relevant here is red cone last week. It is only 12,800ish so yeah

RedCone is seriously awesome! I missed it this time, but did Georgia, Peru Creek and Middle Swan while I was in the Breckenridge area. Did Pole Hill up in Estes Park....that is a seriously awesome trail. Not nearly as high as all the others, but amazing in it's own way.

I sometimes think we get a little obsessed with getting really high here in Colorado...wait that doesn't sound good. I mean running high elevation trails. There is a ton of great stuff at lower elevations, which also tend to have more forest and wildlife.

Yup, agreed! I love the trail networks on the eastern slopes above BV (mostly dirt), Alpine Ridge (between BV/Salida), Rampart Range and all it's off-shoots, all of the gravel/dirt trails around Hartsel and George Bush Dr (crosses Los Pinos Pass). Wildlife in abundance and beautiful aspen everywhere. I look for every opportunity I can get to leave Central TX and go where gravel roads and public camping are in abundance. Basically, 98% of TX is privately owned and paved :(

Went camping with my little brother in the North GA mountains before we go back to school. Unfortunately we couldn't find any challenging trails, but we did come across a creek crossing with banks that were very washed out. As always pictures don't do it justice, but you can get an idea of the steepness from the wheel lift on the descent. It rained the night before so everything was super slick and my worn down all-terrains were no match. If I was triple locked with 35s I probably could have made it, but we decided to get out the winch so that we didn't break anything since we were out alone. I was somewhat surprised that I even cleared the huge drop on the right side coming back up. He definitely learned how frustrating recoveries can be.

We took the wife’s car to Colorado a few weeks back and I wished we had taken the LX once we got there. Do you find it easy to head up there just for a weeekend? Do you drive straight through?

I’ve had this Ironman bumper sitting in the garage for a few weeks to put on my wife’s LX. Got it for a good deal from a buddy who switched bumpers. She doesn’t want it on, as she thinks it’ll make her look “dikey” lol. Well she’s out of town until Monday, so I figured I’d put it on and enjoy it while she’s gone :grinpimp:

275/70/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 200 series wheels. It’s got an AHC sensor lift which is about 1.5” all around. 80 series rear coil springs, land cruiser torsion bars and Japan 4x4 AHC shock spacers.

We drive straight through. Generally 14 hours to Colorado Springs, 14.5 to BV via 69 out of Walsenburg to Salida. We leave around 5pm and stop for rest in Amarillo and Clayton, NM for quick catnaps. I can make it to Sweetwater on a tank from Austin, then another in Amarillo and then again in Trinidad, CO. Not a bad drive at all. For extended weekend trips, I leave on Thursday and start wheeling as soon as we arrive on Friday morning. We leave on Sunday evening for arrival Monday before lunch. We tend to do this every single weekend that has a Monday holiday so I only take a Friday off work.

Took a ride up Porphyry Gulch today
