I gotcha. On the spindle I think I usually just use the gasket alone, but will let someone else confirm that.

Awesome. Much easier on me. The person who rebuilt this axle didn't use paper on anything. I cleaned up rtv for hours.

O rings came in the mail so the hubs got rebuilt and done. Officially my worst paint job ever on the red centers, but after painting an entire axle, steering knuckles, sliders, hubs, and axle armor.... I'm going to say screw it. Notice the photo is strategically taken where you can't notice. Maybe one day Ill take them back off and get them looking better, but for now theyre fine. The bolts are just hand tight, going to fill them up with grease when they go back onto the axle.

Don't "fill them up" with grease. Just lightly grease all the internals a go with it. There is no need for excess grease in the hub body and it can cause you problems down the road.

Ah good to know. Is that school of thought the same with the steering knuckle around the birfield in the knuckle ball? I've seen people fill it up almost full, but in the lowrange off road axle rebuild video I've been following, they barely put any in there

I use one can of grease per side on the knuckle. That's not completely full but quite a bit in there. Hubs don't really have a lot of moving parts so the grease tends to harden over time causing the dial to be hard to turn.

I actually use engine assembly lube on my hubs. Lubri plate. Some think that its too thin but I like it.

3in1 Oil works good on hubs as well

I will say, after seeing the awesome 100s at the meeting last night, I got super jealous and want to build mine. Slee bumpers and sliders, 33s, snorkel, diff drop, front runner rack..... Im going to get some lottery tickets, yall want any?

It will kill most of yall to hear it, but besides the IFS.... the 100 is my favorite cruiser based on looks and ergonomics.

@wngrog I can see that. It's still my favorite cruiser. Closely followed by the 40. Seeing yalls #eaf 100s got me pretty green with jealousy.

Notched my axle housing to fit the HP Elocker tonight. Only drilled/tapped 3 of the holes, have to put a bead of weld on the third one so I have a drilling surface. The hole needed to go on the shoulder of the ring around the diff hole and the bit kept walking. The diff fits though! Just gotta weld a bead and drill the hole and weld on the armor and be good to go.

Removed these studs, and this is it looked like before all of the sparks flew.

Ring gear notches opened up a little bit and the E locker motor notch all notched out.

Best tool for that is a set of transfer punches. Basically a set of center punches each gradually larger than the last. Find the one that fits the hole as close as possible and give it a smack. Your center punch should be in the right place every time that way.

Dang son...its been 30 days. At the pace you started I was expecting to see "Axle in!".

Keep truckin'.
