It probably never got finished. These projects cost so much money. It's not unusual for the owner to run out of good checks to keep it going.

Scary if this has dragged on for nine years and didn't have a contract with a price at the beginning. Could have probably restored it nine years ago for what a paint job cost today. The idea of pay as it goes restoration is something I would never enter into.

I’ve kept cruiser corps busy with plenty of other projects in the meantime. It’s been slow but it’ll be worth it!!!
 
Have to admit nine years is a long time for a business to do a restore. Private owners it's usually done in their spare time which can be hard to find. A company who is in the business of Land Cruisers does seem weird.
