Here's a good idea-

Let's take a moment to remember and respect Veterans on this, the 70th anniversary of D Day. The beginning of the liberation of Europe, and the largest amphibious invasion in history.

Guess it would hard to drag a unimog through our trails, those axles are more suited to bigger trails like at Moab or Rubicon.

that is absolutly not true at all.

A- there are more unimog models than say cruiser models and there is a right mog for every job.
b- you have to have experience with what unimogs can do to see that its not even a contest and thats stock mogs agains supper dupper build rigs.

Maybe speaking out of context, Island trails we run are very narrow, not suited to that wide axle..( as mentioned that particular hybrid axle)

Everything has its place, you can have full width axles, not for me tho.

I spent a week in Texas at the round up, those wide open rocks seemed to be okay for any size axle, Butttttt we got into a tight section and a dude with mog axles broke, leaked, spewed oil and had to back out. I was in probably one of the best built cruisers buggys(very little cruiser parts) with fully built custom axles and we walked through that section..https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/new-cruiser-buggy-sunray-engineering.25651/page-22

Rob;)

Rob;)

i'm going to try to make this short.
chances are its not fair to compare an old axle that should have been in the scrap bin 20 years ago to something new. again please read my previous post. there are home made junk everywhere that includes probably the guy that abortionied what ever unimog parts he had. unimog axles come from very narrow to very big. in fact the big mogs almost mesure at the limit of being road legal. its hard to touch the right unimog in stock form but sadly folks see one thing on the net or on the trail and think they have seen it all.

as for your supper dupper cruiser, belive me i could pick it apart and show all the flawed engineering in it.;)

that is always a good idea.

more often than not, we forget how life could have been for others.

If you have onboard air and sometimes use the blow tip to clean the inside of your rig, you can also get this handy vacuum pistol that works on compressed air. There are dozens of manufacturers and prices out there, they all work the same so you can pick your poison for price/quality.

I've never even heard of one of these. Very cool, do you have a particular model that you use?

No I was first alerted to their existence by a cruiser buddy of mine who said his dad had one hand-made from way back, he was going to throw it out so recovered it. I thought it was quite cool so I googled it and discovered there's a bunch of manufacturers, I haven't gotten around to buying one yet tho.

I just got one of these as a gift from a client. Pretty cool- have yet to try it.. Crazy small for what it purports to do...

Test it out on various things and report back please. Would make some great prizes and gifts if they do indeed work as advertised.

And your lunch break just started.....
