My tires are 10 ply 285/70/17 and my wheels are 9" wide but they do not look as wide on my GX as THeGenTLeMaN wheels and tires .The off set must be different on or may be the shape of those wheels with the deep dish make them look wider ?
the wheels are a -12 offset and 4.5 back space not sure what yours are ... I'll post a front and pic of it ... are juuuust outside the fenders

different view of the wheel fitment

rz470 where did you find the trim piece for the bottom of the front fender or am i seeing things?
You can trim it off the OEM step assembly and bolt it back on.

I was just gonna cut off the bracket I made welded to the receiver then use it as a secondary receiver on the swing arm of the bumper that way I could carry a bike rack and still be able to open the hatch...

but honestly all I have in it $20 for the receiver and I made the rest ...
If you like it your welcome to it ... get me your address and I'll mail it to you when im done with it...

SSS gave me a full draw tie hitch to use temporarily but it was too much of a pain to get on just to take it back off ... that being said mine only uses the 4 rear bolts so your not gonna be able to pull the full tow rating obviously. .. but it is perfect for a light trailer

And any one else wanting a quick hitch let me know I can whip some up for yal ... but not for free lol

PS: you most likely need to run a tap (m12-1.25) to clean the threads out under your vehicle cause the bolts will never get started if you don't. .. atleast in my experience ... and that tap size was not easy to find .. just a heads up

Cool. I don't pull much at all. I'd really just like something better to hook to for recovery than the little loop underneath. I also have a basket rack for the hunting camp. That would work fine for it.

Jlee is correct I cut 2"to 3" off the top portion of the plastic part of step side from front to back to make that front fender bottom look better and also cover the holes in the bottom of the doors jamb also those 8 or 9 Grey plugs on each side only stay in the holes if the plastic part of step side is sandwich between them

Looks awesome. I'm super jealous. If you don't mind me asking; what (roughly) was the cost of the lift to be able to fit the wheels/tires of that size? I think that's about the perfect combination. Just trying to get my numbers crunched to see when I may be able to make the leap. Also, if someone wanted a less aggressive build, could you leave the running boards on with that lift/tire combo?

-The lift that is being used is a RadFlo 2.0 Front Coil over Shocks and Rear shocks & Spring W/ the metal tech Spring conversion kit and the lift is about 3" ....
-but its all lift by suspension the springs determine the height not spacers or blocks ...
-its still drives just as smooth as it did when in it was in Sport mode on the kdss IMO ...
-The Metal tech spring conversion kit will run you $250
-I made a trade for the Rad Flo stuff from Kevin at Southern Style Speed 2nd hand ... not sure what retail is but if you give him a call, email, or PM him here on MUD he will be the best person to talk to...
-bc he knows just about everything there is to know about the GX
- and Southern Style Speed is a dealer for Rad Flo as well as Total Chaos and he can put you together a kit with everything you'll need and probably beat whatever you find on the web
-I know these guys personally and They are customers of mine so i know the quality of SSS is good lol

-FRONT COIL OVER
20150820_124415.jpg

-REAR SPRING THAT REPLACES THE OEM AIR SUSPENSION ....
-AS YOU CAN SEE THE PREVIOUS OWNER INSTALLED HELPER BAGS FROM AIR LIFT INSIDE THE COIL ENCASE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER A LOAD HE COULD LEVEL IT OUT
-THE HELPER BAGS ARE JUST OPTIONAL ... HE HAD THEM RAN TO THE ORIGINAL AIR PUMP THAT THE AIR SUSPENSION WAS HOOKED TO BUT YOU HAVE TO TRICK THE LEVELING SENSOR BC OF THE LIFT IT WONT STOP PUMPING OR WONT START ONE OF THE TWO ... I DON'T HAVE THEM HOOKED UP RIGHT NOW BUT I PLAN ON JUST RUNNING AN AIR LINE FROM THE BAG TO THE REAR SO I CAN MANUAL PUMP THEM IF I NEED TO HAUL SOMETHING HEAVY
-OTHER THAN THAT YOU'LL NEED A SPRING CONVERSION KIT TO HOLD THE SPRING IN PLACE ... ALSO COMES WITH A FAIRLY LARGE BUMP STOP THAT IS A CROSS REFERENCED PART FROM A PRADO

20150820_124454.jpg

-AND THEN OF COURSE THE REAR SHOCKS TO REPLACE THE FACTORY SHOCKS
20150820_124514.jpg

-SORRY FOR THE PHOTO QUALITY BUT YOU GET THE IDEA I HOPE

Awesome. Thanks for the assistance. I'll give these guys a call. I really like the SSS front bumper.

Hey guy, I Just posted this in Paint and Body but i thought i would post here too
I cant say a bad thing about this vehicle it really EXCEPT.....
I need some advice on rust treatment
-the undercarriage has a general rust infection from front to back
-every seam weld you see on the frame and structure is orange
-some brackets like the front bumper mounts and rear hitch area look like they are delaminating where the paint is coming of in layers
-most bolt threads that are exposed through a nut are so gawd up they barely can be taken off or break off
-I upgraded my suspension front and rear and in doing that process i now need to replace all of my sway bar links ... The top stud on the rear shocks had to be broken cut and broken off the remove then .. the front kdss sensors on top for the shocks had to broken and cut off the remove the front shocks

You get the idea .... Its something that i loose sleep over bc IDK how I missed this when i bought the vehicle ... Maybe it was helping my wife juggle 3 kids in the humid 100deg louisiana heat that distracted me that day ...

WHAT DO I DO? ... just wire brush all the rust and treat with under coat?
HAS ANYONE ELSE had to deal with this? WHAT DID YOU DO?

THIS IS REALLY THE WORST OF IT AND IV CLEANING AND SPRAYED IT ALREADY

THANK YOU!

I'd knock all the rust off and hit it with POR15 or Rust Bullet.

with out looking it up are these rust prohibiters ?

Yeah - it basically turns into a hard protective coat.

POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is a high performance coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces and will stop rust permanently. POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is non-porous and seals and protects many surfaces from water, chemicals, salt, and other corrosive contaminants and is able to be painted over rust. POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is an effective anti-corrosive and rust preventive coating that offers superior chemical resistance due to its dense, cross-linked molecular composition and non-porous attributes.

The secret lies in POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating's curing process. Most paints dry through evaporation, but POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating dries faster when moisture is present. It has the opposite chemistry of ordinary paints. Now add to that POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating incredible hardness, toughness, and flexibility and you have a coating that is practically indestructible. POR-15® Rust Preventive Coating is a permanent rust repair great for auto frame and chassis restoration, protecting valuable equipment against rust and corrosion. You'll be amazed at the toughness!

WARNING: THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS CHEMICALS KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER, BIRTH DEFECTS OR OTHER REPRODUCTIVE HARM.

Por15 has a spray that helps turn the rust into a protective coating, then cover it with Por15 paint, wear gloves because if you get the paint on your hands it has to wear off. Por15 is some great stuff.

POR-15 Metal Prep

Rust Preventive Coating

I was told it was originally used on buoyes in the gulf.
