I've heard gov. employees are cool folks :)

Cool, yes sir, but damn are they slow. I can say that cause I was one once upon a time. I just need this permit squared away so we can get this show on the road. Feel like once it goes, we are going to be waist deep with both feet.

I don't think septic tanks and waste deep are a good thing.
Glad to see things starting to move along for you.

yeah...there are some winners out there....I hate paying their salary too :)

Well, got the call yesterday (8.28.15) that the septic permit was ready for pickup, so I called my GC and had him meet me at the planning and codes department yesterday afternoon. About 45 minutes and several checks later we are cleared for take-off!!

He has already done his one-call and will start grading on Monday. If things go well we could have footings by next weekend. Fingers crossed.

Last post up today, then the rain started so we packed it up for the day. Erin got some mowing done.

Gonna get my pops to come up next weekend to help me get the carrier beams up and if that goes well then start hanging joists. Gonna grab a few more sacks of quikrete for around bases of the posts tomorrow.

Will have one waiting for you buddy, and you can even have your choice of air or springs ;)

Heck we even got plenty of room for anybody who wants to just throw up a tent in the back yard.

At this point we are just looking forward to getting some dirt pushed around.

My pops came up yesterday and we hit it hard. Got the carriers up, all the joists up and all but a couple of the roof purlins up. I can't hardly move this morning, but I am going to try to get out there today and trim the overhangs and get some metal up on it, at the very least I want to get the transition piece in so any water will run off and not down the back since my "flashing" is gone.

Didn't get a pic of where we left things as it was so dark we were working by the light of our impact drivers but I will grab one when I get out there today.

Well, I forgot to grab a picture of how we started, but I grabbed a few of the end of the day.

Today's progress included trimming the purlins on the starting end, installing the facia on that end and along the back, drip edge, 3 pieces of metal and all of the transition metal that goes from the 4:12 to a 2:12. Even with only 3 pieces of actual metal on, at least if it rains it will drip off and not run down the face board.

On to the pictures.

Post part 2.

The other end still needs trimming off and having the facia put on.

And after all that we cleaned up and Erin and my FIL put a few rounds into the dirt pile.

They also came in and graded out for the house last week. Hoping they will get the corners pinned and start digging footings this week.

May try to throw a few more sheets up tomorrow. It will just be Erin and I, but if we could just get 4 more up, that would put use half way there, then finish it up this coming weekend.

Well, when I got up this morning I wasn't planning on making a major purchase, but that all changed an hour or so ago.

Mama's new toy.

Will be delivered a little later this week most likely.

Thats a nice looking little tractor. Just the wrong color...

@htburnett are you an orange or a red fan? Oh and happy belated B-day.

Thank you sir. Im just giving you a hard time. Any tractor newer than my land cruiser would be good.

nice but Im with hunter, its the wrong color. Im still with hunter any tractor of any color is better than mine. itll be nice around the farm congrats.

Thanks @jason in tn Mama loves to mow and after our last tractor ordeal, we decided to see what was out there that would not cost us an arm and leg just to keep moving on its own.

Today's update:

Went out after work to check on things and found that MTEMC has 3 of the 4 poles set, the 4th one is on the ground. The transformer is sitting on the ground next to the last pole. The temp pole is set and has the state tag of approval on it. The surveyor was out today and laid out the house. I have to say that I had laid out the rough corners and was pretty damn impressed that his pins were practically stuck in my stakes. I missed one corner by about 6 inches, but I was pretty impressed that I got it that close.

Hopefully they will start digging tomorrow, might even have footers by the weekend, that is if the rain doesn't set in too heavy over the next couple days.

@onemanarmy our driveway is about a quarter of a mile long. The road out front is paved. We have a small town where our little girl goes to school that is probably 6 miles or so away, but the closest large community is at least 30 minutes away in most any direction.

MTEMC got the pole line in and the temp service is in, but we didn't get a meter set yet. I thought that was part of the deal, but I musta missed that. So no power this weekend, but I will get that sorted the first of the week.

We went out this afternoon to take delivery of mama's new tractor.

She rode it around a little and is reading up on how to operate things. It is a pretty slick little rig.

After we get some metal up on the lean-to tomorrow, she is gonna spend a little quality time with her new wheels.
