I got a number of things that I need to do around the place. Aside from all the truck work, I have a lot of grading and cleaning up to do. So today I decided to finally get all the dirt moved from behind the shop. I didn't get a good before picture, but I grabbed a early in process pic.

You can see where I've been working already.

This trash was what I had been avoiding. When I got into it. I realized that they basically threw all their trash, cut waste, insulation, waste metal, broken nail gun, everything back there.

It was way more than I realized and had I known, I wouldn't have paid them out until they cleaned it up. I built up the south end more and then when I got to the trash, I took it up to my backstop and dumped it behind it and covered it with dirt. I'll have to grab a picture of it tomorrow. It is currently close to 8' tall and probably 12'-15' deep.

And after 6 hours on the tractor I have a nice graded area that makes getting in and out much easier.

I still have a small pile to haul off/ level out to be done with all of it, but it is finally cleaned up.

Now I need to get a load of stone to spread under the lean-to and get some gutters on the shop.

Since I spent all day playing real life Tonka trucks, tomorrow i will get back to work on the 80.

Well I've been shuffling things around lately, cleaning and finally just decided to get my butt in gear. I scrounged around and dug some lumber out and figured it was time to get this plywood on the wall.

Cleaned up a spot. Found a can of great stuff to fill in some gaps and the got one sheet up on the wall.

I found some 10 foot 2x4s in the barn, so I can get all the stringers up so I can get the 3 sheets I have on the wall. I'll probably need 3 more to get to the corner. Also started framing in around the window on this end of the shop.

And to the shock post above, I settled on the 5165s. Got them mocked up yesterday.

Not happy with the spring swap. Got to pull it back out and try another spring pack that was to go on the drivers side, but if it works then I'll be happy.

Making room to store my buddy's restomod mustang was the motivation.

The ole' redneck Rivera is getting some upgrades for this season. Gonna build a small deck on one side.

Lumber...

Got some help from my handy helper.
look at this girl running the post hole digger with pops.

We're kinda making it up as we go, but we sort of got a start on it this afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get the rest of the frame up and ready for some decking.

Stay tuned...

Blocked, braced and ready for decking and stairs.

Don't mind the random teenager doing teenager things...

Seriously, she hung in. Ran the driver screwing in hangers and joists, learned a little about using a framing square and put in her sweat equity. I'm glad she'll hang with the old man and help out from time to time.

Hannah and I have been busting it out.

I picked up another load of lumber mid week and today we go after it.
20230607_190928.jpg

Trimmed out the 3 sides and then started dropping in the deck boards. About halfway there.
20230610_130226.jpg

And we ran thru our 5 lb box of screws.
20230610_135744.jpg

Just lack about 4 or 5 boards getting it to the edge, but we have the tractor pull tonight, so we'll grab some tomorrow and finish it off if it doesn't rain.

Happy tractor pull day er'body!

Just about wrapped up the deck today. Trimmed out the front corners as best I could.
20230624_144249.jpg

Then I disassembled the ladder, trimmed it and then screwed it down.
20230624_161431.jpg

Currently using the bottom half as a ladder for acces until I get a set of stairs built.
20230624_170014.jpg

And then started putting up some railing to keep from falling off.
20230624_170040.jpg

Have to finish trimming the rail out and then we should be ready to put out a chair and have a cold one.

I broke it in with a beer and a smoke tonight.

Step 6 at its finest.

Little John got a full service today. New batter and all filters and fluids. Oil, fuel, air and hydraulic. The in-line fuel filter was nasty. Don't know if I've ever replaced that one.
20230917_183339.jpg

I know I've done the main filter, but this one is right at the tank exit.

20230917_190452.jpg

Just have to top off the oil and refill the tank with some fresh low Sulphur and we'll be good for the next adventures.

That's my buddy Mike. He is Leo and while he does have a YJ, he is by no means a ducker.
You have done well keeping him a secret.

Well, to be fair he's only been a jeeple for a few months. You guys may have met him, I think @BMThiker and Kat have. They just live up the road and are Hannah's BFF's parents.

Nothing major, but I did finally hang the other 2 sheets of 3/4" plywood that I had. I also hung an old 60 hood to use as a heat shield for the stove.

20231008_162348.jpg

Then I hung some homecoming art from this year.
20231008_163202.jpg

I like seeing progress, so I'm thinking I will try to pick up a few 2x's and a couple sheets of plywood along to slowly get the walls sheeted.
