Erin has all her Sh!t together, but we got subs and vendors with their hands out and a banker who has rules to follow, so just trying to figure out how to keep everyone paid and things moving is wearing on me....

Anyway, drone video and more pics to come.

dealing with subs keeps most of the beer industry in business. You guys are doing great and hopefully the weather continues to cooperate. Hammer down!!

progess is looking good. Love those drone videos. Drop by while your up in Corryton for the wedding. We'll have a cold one and talk for awhile.

Grabbed a couple on Friday on our way out of town. They were going to pour the garage slab and a small slab for the AC units. We'll grab a few of it finished up this afternoon.

Slab poured and the extra gravel started filling the porches. It was raining so we made it quick, but I will get Erin to grab one tomorrow if it isn't raining too much.

Fresh concrete, looking good. Its good to have the boss approve of it.

Today was a good news bad news kind of day....

Good news is they started framing and based on how these guys are running the floor will be decked and may even have a few walls up by Friday. Bad news is the Surveyor who laid out the foundations apparently CAN'T READ A SET OF PLANS :bang::bang: my GC called me tonight and says "uh the house is 6" too short front to back" Damnit, I thought this guy was your go-to guy.... so we figured out how to make up 4", but we loose those inches from the porch, and the lip that the porch slab is supposed to sit on, not to mention we loose 2" in the overall front to back dimension of the house interior..... in the grand scheme, not the end of the world, but being as we waited for this particular guy to do the layout cause he is "the guy", well I'm kind of P'd. I can see how it happened after looking over the plans, there are some odd dimension calls, but he should have caught it (that's his F!@#ing job) and I'm more than a little aggravated. I'm not sure if any of my framers can speak a word of English, but what I can tell you is that they sure as hell can read plans better than a state licensed surveyor.....

Anyway, I'm trying not to let that overshadow today's progress. Pictures from today; these guys are damn good, this is just after about 6 hours today.

Should be looking at a flat deck tomorrow. Stay tuned.

dang...that sucks. I thought you double-checked the layout more than once before last call....guess the guy checked the layout against the bad numbers...that would really set me off too. Some folks run too long on auto-pilot and tunnel vision...guess its hard to back-up and adjust at this point.

Decked and laying out walls.

And just to bring everyone up to speed, turns out somehow the foundation is 35' 2" front to back, not 35' 0" like he thought, nor 35' 6" like it was supposed to be, so when he took the 4" from the front porch, the house is actually exactly the correct dimension.... go figure. So in the end the only loss was the 4" from the front porch, which will now be 7' 8" instead of 8' even. Oh well. With that out of the way, they got everything decked out today and the picture above was from a little after lunch today. So I was on my way home from some meetings and had a little daylight so I swung by to check out the floor. But couldn't get on it because there was wall framing laying in the way, front and back wall are up and the ends don't look far behind. And they were still there working. I am super impressed by these guys and at this rate they will likely have the roof decked out by the end of next week.

Anyway, here are some pics from today.

I expect tomorrow they will have most if not all the first floor up and possibly be working on the 2nd floor.

wow, that's amazingly fast. i remember when i was a kid, my uncle built a house. once the framing was done with trusses up, they took a picture of the house and had it made into a puzzle. we loved to put that together, it was tough with all the framing pieces. later they framed it (no pun intended) and hung on the wall. maybe 24"x18" or close. just something cool to do.

From the looks of things it appears most all of the first floor walls are up and the garage walls are ready for sheeting and then they will be ready to go up. They are planning to work tomorrow and judging from their pace the last couple days, they may very well have some of the second floor beams up by the end of the day.

Pictures don't do it justice, but here are some Erin took today.

@beno here's your room :) (just to clarify, view from your room, not implying you have to sleep in the back yard)

And while it was too dark to get a decent picture, we took some pizza out tonight and had dinner in our new dining room. First dinner in the new house as a family, pretty cool. It was fun the show little bit her room and then watch her as she started putting everything together.

time to run all the ethernet and speaker wiring if ya gonna do it. Lookin good!

THanks Ted. Yeah we will make sure all that gets in the walls when they rough in.

We went out today after trunk-or-treat this morning. The framers literally worked until the rain shut them down. We came up the drive as they were loading up. The garage is up and ceiling up, they got all the beams up for the second floor and are ready to start decking it out, and it looked like they were working on framing the porch when the rain got them. If anybody around here needs some framing done I'm gonna give Galvin Brothers a free plug. They have basically framed the whole main floor in 3 and a half days.... I'm guessing it will be under roof by Thursday if the weather holds.

Anyway, here are a few pics from today.

I'm probably gonna try to get up top tomorrow if it isn't too wet.

Like I said in the previous post, these guys are GOOD! I expect to have a top on it by the end of next week.

Last one for the day.

One more, didn't know Erin took it. We took little bit and a pizza out and had our first dinner as a family in our new house last night.

That is awesome. They are moving super fast, I'm happy for you guys. Hope the weather holds out next week for you.

Haven't gotten quotes on foam to compare to batt yet, so can't really share any I sight on that just yet.

Weather slowed them down some today, but they did finish decking the second floor and finished framing the porches. The roof framing got delivered today, so I'm hoping that if things dry out they will be able to turn up the wick tomorrow and if so then I'm guessing there will be rafters up tomorrow, decked out by Wednesday.

Here are the pics Erin took today.
