Im not sure what the attraction is to the poor FJ55's where people pull off the doors and get wacky with the paint....?

This one may might make a good off road vehicle. Couple cans of spray paint in mat finish would fix the color. Add some front doors, piece of plexiglass for a rear window and it's somewhat weather tight. Throw a FF rear axle/locker and 60 series power steering. Looking at CL and seeing the crazy prices being asked for FJ40s needed a complete ground up restore this seems cheap.:meh:

I fear this may take the place of the Craigslist Tiki-cruiser. Let's hope someone does what you suggest and make it a legit trail rig...

Weight savings ;)

Have ya ever picked up a piggy door? I think the ones in my dad's 55 weighed more than I did at the time:)

Lets go wheeling, no power steering, open diffs, and slipping clutch, with the proper driver this is a legit trail rig. :popcorn:

Power steering and open diffs not a problem but I'll pass on the slipping clutch. Pavement or dirt a slipping clutch is just no fun. Almost as bad is non properly adjusted early drum brakes. Three speed with a non synchronized first gear and column shifter help keep it interesting.

D90 for a smokin' deal.:bounce::bounce2:

I have been trying to justify the purchase of a decent DSLR, since they came out.

don't ask me how I somehow find myself working on this deal :rolleyes: here in Baton Rouge: 1997 Lexus lx450-must go!!

actually, after looking at it, it's not as good of a deal as it sounds - but still a good enough deal . . . :hmm:

So.................now it's YOURS?

What's this "working on it" s***? If it works, it sounds like a steal. You need one at each home.

expired registration, no plates - not legal to drive

but need to drive to inspection station before being able to get new registration :bang:

the feeling of "a steal" goes away the minute you smell the moldy-algal-bloom-carpet skank :mad:

turns out, seller could not produce a clean title, guess that's why he priced it so low :doh:

If it seems to good to be true....
