Good to see the rain and the warm wind and fog. Cut's the snow down quicker. However, there's still a foot or two of snow on the ground here and the class 6's in NH don't open up until May 1-15 depending on the town. Tough to get much wheeling in. Should have traded one of the LC's for a snowmobile in '07. At least I'd be offroad ;>)
 
I'm headed to my old college tonight to trod the boards one more time. The longtime director/professor, an insanely fantastic guy, is retiring, tonight is his last show and we've got 30-some-odd past performers showing up for a little surprise tribute after "Waiting for Godot" is over.

We'll each take the stage is quick succession and recite a line from one of our performances, followed by a big party. I expect it to be a lot of fun and pretty emotional. This guy ran the art dept. for years, directed hundreds of shows and has been a pillar of Colby-Sawyer forever. One of those guys you are truly honored to have known.

I'm feeling a little emotional already. :(

This was a picture in the local paper of my good buddies 2 boats. (this was the guy who brought the 2nd keg to the wedding BBQ for those who went)

I helped do a TON of welding on the green one, not so much on the black one. His dad is the one pulling in the line on the green one (hes the captain of that boat) and his son is in one of my green sweatshirts and vest in the black boat.
He gets alot of pictures taken of his boats this time of year, hes got the only 2 in the harbor!

Damn. You gotta have respect for those guys. Not a job I would want. I may work in a cube but at least its warm.
 
seeing that brought back some memories from when i was a cub scout and we had a sleep over on the battle ship the USS Massachusetts, it was the middle of winter and the ship was siting in a harbor of ice needless to say we got the bunks that were against the steel hull talk about sleeping in a freezer:hillbilly:
 
Putting this to fellow members prior to researching the other forums since we are all part of the club and maybe someone else locally has interest or experience.

I've been looking for a 5 speed manual tranny 6 cylinder pickup with an occasional or full back seat to tow the 17' center console boat to Cape Cod and back to NH and maybe do a trip to see Moab and the great southwest. You can sleep in the back if need be to avoid creepy crawly things that drive the Missus wild. The Toyota trucks and SUV's with 5 speed and a 6 cylinder in stock form are 20 MPG highway machines. Unfortunately, they are impossible to find in a doublecab Tacoma at less than $10K and there are very few Tundras and 4Runners in this combo at any price.

I stumbled upon a very clean T-100 extra-cab a couple days ago. Its a 5 speed with the more desirable 3.4L 6. Less than 150K and asking $4K.

I don't know much about the T's, but it seems to me they use an independent front similar to the older Tacomas. There has to be some lifting options if I decide to go that route. It has 31" All Terrains and I'm wondering if my 11.50X32's would fit unlifted?

Any thoughts on how good or bad these trucks are? I see them going for more on eBay and elsewhere than this guy wants, so $4K seems like a decent price. Are there low gearing options for the t-case or a doubler? Is the t-case and tranny a Tacoma unit so it would be open to InchWorm and Marlin Crawler mods?

if you can find a t-100 4x4 in good condition snag it up! i have had my 98 t-100 sine it had about 40,000 miles on it now it has about 140,000 miles the only things i have had to do to it has been tires, breaks, oil changes, shocks, battery and an alternator. The 3.4 is an amazing engine for a v6, I have towed a lot of project trucks home on a 2000lb trailer with out ay problems so it will tow just about anything, Nate can attest to that.
32" tires fit just fine too.
i have taken my truck all the way out to moab and got to wheel it on fins and things and lions back :D fun times
easy to lift too just get some ball joint spacers up front and crank up the torsion bars and thrown in some bigger springs out back, 32" tires fit just fine too.
 
Only a foot here and all nice and fluffy. The old Chebby P/U made quick work of it. Why waste a good 'Cruiser on such mundane and nasty tasks? A couple of mine prefer the cozy confines of the garage when its cold and snowy but seem to have no problem with rocks and mud. Must be those fat sneakers they wear.

'Preciate the input. I also have a line on a series 1 Tundra. It has the advantage of the rear doors and coil front ends. It looks like there are more and more buys out there for those of us who are lucky enough to have income or cash. Anyone got some thoughts about the original Tundra?

neighbor has a gen 1 tundra its nearly identical to my t-100 except it has the coil over up front everything else underneath is the same may be easer to find that first gen over the t-100

Big thanks to Kina and Randy today for helping me get all the diesels running today. All of them purred so very happy

one of the best appetite suppressants out there. Should be a good week :D.

My wife caught someything a wek or so ago and is still fighting it. I've been a little the last couplke days but seem back to normal. Guess it hits everyone different.
