I realized that the current economic times are hitting some pretty hard, but I've been running lean and mean for quite a few years and it's finally paying off later on today.

I'm picking up a 2006 Lexus GS300 AWD with 23k on the clock. I'm very excited as I bought a 1996 Camry three years ago and it was really starting to show it's age with 210K miles on it. It was a DX model, 4 cylinder 5 speed. While it got the job done those 6 hour drives were really starting to suck.

Great time to buy a car!

today was the first day Rick drove by a dunkin donuts to stop at a starbucks:D lexus drivers:p
saw his car today, very nice funny the driver manual would take you longer to read then War And Peace at-least 3" thick

It's snowing, nice fire going in the wood stove.
Did a parts run to Troy and dropped off a heater at Josh's shop.
Trimmed a rocker on the 40 and finished the welding on that.
Drivers side front leaf spring is off and waiting to be flipped.
Just ordered new poly bushings from Specter. The rear bushings where
gone.
Bette has a turkey in the oven and the house smells great!
Ian is banging away on the guitar, his birthday was last week and he
has a new Amp which is now VERY LOUD!!!!
Nice relaxing day.

Still snowing??? Just rain (although it started as a little snow and sleet) down here in Mass.

BTW - someday, sooner than you think, your kids will be all grown up (mine left this morning to go back to college) and you will miss that noise!

Got back last night after spending the weekend in NH with the wife. Originally we were going to try to go skiing for our anniversary but decided it probably wasn't a good idea. So we hit the shops in N. Conway. Nice relaxing weekend but I8Mondays!

is Copley Motorcars out of business? Serves them right if they are but I was going to look at some Rover porn (gasp) and could not find the site.

drove by there last week and there were plenty of Rovers out front

Where did you go?

We went to Purity Springs in (East?) Madison. Its where we used to go skiing when we were kids. Nice little place.

Bondo bucket of a 55 is still there too noticed it this weekend

I also like a little Rover porn now and then. I was contemplating importing a 110, but after researching them more....I just cant do it. I'll wait two years for the 70 series.

The Defender 90s always make me perk up a little.

But my truck is a toy I don't really need, hard to justify something less practical than something I don't really need.

Man, they look good though.

Those of you that have known me a long time know that I was once over 400lbs. wearing a size 60 waist. I did Weight Watchers when my son was born and lost over 100 lbs in a bit more then a year. I kept it off for a while but eventually slid back to my old ways. The Boy turns 6 this month and I've pretty much gained it all back. Don't know exactly, as my scale says I weigh "E" but I'd bet I'm 380 right now (wearing a size 54/56 waist). :(

Fed up I decided to do the 2 week fAtkins induction to ween myself off all the sugar and processed carbs then am going to sort of a "whole foods" plan, lean meat, veggies, no processed sugar or flour, very very low carbs. I'm done with food from a box.

Anyway, started Monday so today is day 4 and I'm feeling pretty good. The first few days the cravings were rough but they've passed. The biggest difference is that when I get hungry now it's just hungry. Previously when I got hungry I would get all shaky and nauseous. I've been tested for Diabetes a few times and always came out fine but clearly high weight and a high sugar/carb diet was going to catch up with me.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. I'd like to drop 40 pound or so by summer and eventually get below 300 again. These are modest goals, I'll never be slim, but at 300 I was feeling pretty damn good, wearing a size 42 waist, and I'd be happy to get there again.

Good luck Dave and it sounds like you have a good plan for eating quality foods. Are you planning on working out in any way to help maximize your efforts and weight loss goal?
