Sounds like he should be doing chores around your place for long time.

His father gave me his old lawn tractor this summer, so i gave him a brake. He felt terrible about it.

"Frame is broken, leaf spring is broken, drive shaft is broken," Arn't those unibody?

I'd show his girlfriend a real off road rig.

Who calls the cops to pull them out in the first place?

Who calls the cops to pull them out in the first place?

A Jeep guy, obviously.

A better question is who goes out alone without the tools/skills to get themselves unstuck?

One of my friends did a little digging and told me is that the owner from the towing co was out riding quads at the same time and called the police on them. And then the police called them to tow the jeep out. Real scumbags from what I hear.

I bought a buggy...

Ultimate adventure 2015 has 2 fj40 in it

as some of you know I have a 1980 FJ40 getting restored. Down to the final bits and pieces and want to get a factory radio in it. If you check out ebay they want crazy money ($750.00) for one which is out of my price range. Since I've been scrounging parts with some regularity and luck I took to the computer a couple of weeks ago and started educating my self on the radios that were used in the Toyota line that would fit the FJ and look appropriate.

A popular choice is a radio out of a FJ60 however the controls are out of place horizontally.

So yesterday I did some more digging and drove up to Pelham NH as a yard listed a few possibilities on their web site.

came home with 4 radios all with the proper configuration and will bolt right in.

1 AM radio
2 AM/FM multiplex radios
and my personal favorite
1 AM/FM mono radio

I still need to bench test them but for 80.00 how could I go wrong.

need to scrounge me a radio bezel now.

Hello! New guy here from Westfield Mass. Does anyone have any background info on this FJ40? I'm going to take a look at her tomorrow. The current owner only has had her for a year, so I'm curious as to if anyone here knew who did the work on it. It's currently up in Maine. Thanks! - Seth

Oh and if anyone wants to come along to have a look/test ride, lunch and travel would be on me!

More info: A quick hello and your valued opinions on this 78 FJ40
