LOL!!! Great idea!

Sold my '93 Arctic Cat Panterra tonight. Used it 2 seasons and got my original purchase price back - $750 :bounce2: It was only on Craigslist in NH for 24 hours and my weekend will now be free from annoying phone calls, emails, scam artists and no-shows. Sold it to the first guy who actually showed of 3 who inquired. I probably could have gotten $50 more, but not worth the hassle. I'll sleep soundly :)

More importantly, selling the sled is worth about 12-16 hours of slack from my wife (including the 8 she will be asleep) regarding all my "stuff". Odds are 3 to 1 that before Noon tomorrow she will mention my getting something else sold. I can even hear the words now: "that's a good start, but when are you getting rid of that" (fill in the blank) in the yard? :bang:

That $ should cover most of the cost of gas for our CruiseMoab 2011 trip :steer: this Spring unless it gets a lot higher.

Life is good

Send Woody a PM. You can also forward that PM to him.

What makes you think its a scam an not a mistake?

Turns out it was a mistake, they sent me a new message that had nothing to do with the original subject and the people mentioned. Not sure how they were able to delete a PM from my inbox, but the original is gone and a new one is now in its place. Sorry for the false alarm.

Clients driving me nuts today.

The recent snowstorm gave me an idea about modifying my FJ80 for camping/expedition work. The pop top and wider rear body behind the front doors should add quite a bit of comfort and capacity. Sleeping sideways might be an option. I think windows from an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in the front of the bump up or something I can open for ventilation would be way cool. Opinions? ;)

Check out this write up! I love this thing.

Vermont Overland Discontinues services Guide Service Discontinued | Vermont Overland: living the overland lifestyle a weekend at a time

It's really frustrating to me that Vermont Overland LLC is discontinuing it's guide services. I understand that VO was taking heat from various individuals, and this is puzzling to me. For someone like myself who abides by the law and wheels legally and tries to tread lightly, I would much rather see out of staters and inexperienced wheelers get hitched up with Vermont Overland.
A company to my understanding that was protecting the well being of VT roads and trails by guiding enthusiasts and keeping their participants off of private property for a small fee should of been embraced by Vermont. VO would also assist in the propper training, technique, etiquette and safe travel of those vehicles. Not to mention the amount of business that VO gave the local economy of Vermont, with stays at bed and breakfasts or lunches at local restaurants and stops at local stores and gas stations will now be lost in an already struggling economy.

Thats sad. Just another loss in the battle for wheeling. I think your right that with them being responsible and teaching and helping and guiding, it is helping wheeling in general and also helping VT. Loss for the state and loss for anyone who did business with them.

4 wheeling is dying a slow death.

I won't debate that statement, but I'm sure there's a number of trails and unmaintained roads that have been able to stay open because of the efforts of organized wheeling.

i actually think the problem with wheeling is it is not organized enough, its the random people who tear up land and who dont tread lightly, i think if it was further organized and policed and everyone was respectful with wheeling in groups then it would make it much better for all
