Get hi lift if you don't have one! I used mine today, very useful. I also decided I need a winch!

I've gotten myself out of a lot of jams with a just a jack, come along, patience and sweat over the years. However, I still prefer a winch and a buddy!

progress, I'm like a squirrel storing nuts. There is this ever bigger pile happening in my garage corner.

Rick, Let me know if I can add to that pile. I have this and that for a 40 including wheels/tires and body parts (spare vehicles), etc. You've helped me out in the past, so happy to return the favor on parts, advice and help. What year is yours? Larry

thanks Larry, it's an 83 RHD.

I've been stuck driving a 2010 Camry for the past week an a half. The dealer was supposed to replace the front diff in my truck, they ordered the diff only to tell me once they took it apart that Toyota told them to rebuild it or they wouldn't be paid. Well turns out the parts are on national backorder.

Needless to say I'm not easy on the Camry. :hillbilly:

Your 2008 needs a rebuild already? I heard those trucks have a few issues.
I love driving my truck in the snow. I love the parking jobs I pull off in the city on top of snow banks and what not.
I get some funny looks...
It will be sad when we move to me DDing the 05 accord but at least the cruiser will be a weekend warior with snow commute duties.

Gas pedal recall
Serp belt and tensioner
Getting a vibration
Diff rebuild due to a wu wu sound since about 10k
dash trim piece replaced

VTCruiser has the same truck and his air pumps let go. Caused his truck to go into "Limp Mode" where it wouldn't go over 25mph.

Not happy with the quality. Sad but my next truck might be a Ford or Chevy. Or maybe even an old tow rig/beater depending on what gas prices do.

A baby squirrel fell down the chimney tonight into the fireplace. I occasionally have squirrels in the attic, so this isn’t the first time a baby has taken a false step and slid down the metal flue. Maybe it thought it would be warmer in the living room than up in all that insulation? It is about the size of a fat chipmunk with a flat bushy tail. Cute as it is, SWMBO doesn’t like them in the house. Small as it is, its first reflex is to bite, glad I was wearing gloves the 2 times I actually had it in my hands. (I still have a bite scar on one finger from 50 years ago that I got from a squirrel that I trapped as a child, and I was wearing thick leather gloves at the time!) My attempt to put it this beast in a cooler was greeted with its ability to leap about 3-4 feet vertically. It was quite comedic with my attempts to catch it in a minnow net and it jumping around here and there throughout the house. My wife threatened to go to a motel, but was adamant that I not harm the squirrel and also quarantined the dog in the bedroom to prevent him from exorcising the bushy tailed rodent. He’s caught mice in the past, so I’m sure a baby squirrel would be a fine treat. One of the 3 times I actually trapped this beast, it jumped onto my chest when I cornered it in the kitchen, but, it got away again as I fumbled with the net. Luckily it was hungry and went for some sunflower seeds and cracked corn I put under an inverted wastebasket made of mesh metal. I propped up the wastebasket on one side with a whiflle ball, and when it went under the basket to eat, I whacked the ball away and it was mine. I slid a piece of cardboard under the basket to make a lid and dumped the rodent in a trash can with that same cardboard lid. I threw in an old t-shirt and some food before he could jump out and bite into my carotid artery. I’ll try to find a place that adopts wild creatures. If I can’t, I’ll get a cage and keep it until Spring. That is unless someone on Mud or in the Club wants to adopt it. Takers?

It's 20 below, I said "sure I'll work my day off on Monday".
What was I thinking? : (

This explains it

Article:

Dana is best-known for their rear differentials and axle assemblies but for the 1995-2000 Toyota Tacoma, Dana provided the frame that was found to rust excessively, causing Toyota to issue a recall on 110,000 pickups built during those six model years. This recall affected mostly those who lived in areas with harsh winters and the rust problem was accelerated by the use of road salt.
Toyota was Dana Corp’s second largest customer in 2009, with 6% of their business coming from the Japanese automaker; second only to the 20% of business that Ford Motor Company provides. This $25 million payment will be charged against the earnings of 4th quarter of 2010 and while it sounds like a tremendous amount of money, Dana reported $6.1 billion in revenue during 2010 – meaning that the $25 million fine is likely only a small portion of the money made off of Toyota throughout their relationship.
Dana Corp sold the plants responsible for the faulty Toyota Tacoma frames that were affected by the recall in March 2010 but as part of the settlement between the two over the frame rust recall issue, Dana will shell out the cash as the plants were in their ownership when the problematic parts were produced.
