Understand the Prius gets varying MPG depending on the season. I was getting 55mpg during the summer and 47mpg last Winter. Has to do with battery efficiency, getting the engine up to temperature, and using the heater and headlights.

Swimmin in my wake, Dave.......thanks for rubbing it in that I am cruiserless.
I do like the interior of the new ones with the extra space under the console by your feet. Mine's a 2007 and definitely has lots of interesting gadgets and system monitors. 2.9% financing on a used car was too good to pass up
They must be slow. Getting on an onramp and merging with highway speeds must be a real chore. Nothing like a v8 under your right foot. You'll probably miss your 4skinna. I remember when you got it. You were so excited. Oh well.
I don't see what's to rave about. Other than the gas mileage. But that's it.
Yeah I understand what your saying. For me I don't care how high gas prices go I'll still own a cruiser. It's in my blood.I will miss the 4Runner, I loved that truck, but I couldn't afford it anymore so it has to go, that's the sacrifice of starting my own business (and it's not the only 1). Beyond the gas mileage I had a loan on it (probably a mistake) and the total costs just weren't affordable anymore.
The Prius is really no slower or difficult to merge to highway speeds in then any other small 4cyl car. But it's primary focus is overal gas mileage.
It's not "exciting," but, as a "car guy" I think it's curious and interesting and it's something new in the garage and I'll happily enjoy that.
At the end of the day, it's my wife's commuter and she's looking forward to it.
