Jeep ones are horrible. Hop on edmunds.com and read up on the Jeep diesels. Terrible.

Mahindra was supposed to start selling trucks and SUV's this year but it seems endlessly delayed. Those trucks are ugly as hell anyway.

Ford has amazing diesel technology but they refuse to bring it to the US for some reason.

Have a friend that works as a warrantyguy for VW and he says stay away.
How are Jeep diesels rated? Have not heard much about them.

The Italian made 4cyl. in the Liberty is iffy from everything I've read.

The 3.0L V6 in the Grand Cherokee is a good engine though, shared throughout the Mercedes lineup.

Guess we know who's buying beers next Pub night.

Lined up 6+ weeks of steady contract work for the DHMC Web Dept. starting after Christmas. Could turn into a regular contract customer, the kind of retainer client I need to make my business profitable (finally). Not exciting design, but good web work that pays every 2 weeks.

Needed that.

They all do!

If the US would relax their emissions standards for diesels to match the European standard they could bring them over easily. But our emissions standards are too stringent to make it worth their while.
Yup that's the sad truth. But what about the big three? They all sell diesels in the US. How do they get around the strict emissions?

Traded in our beloved, but gas-guzzling 4Runner for a new Prius today. 16 mpg average to 50mpg average, made Sara choose since she drives it most of the time and this is what she liked and wanted.

Best part was 0% financing from Toyota.

The car is nice. I like all the techy-MPG stuff, and though it's certainly smallish we all fit nicely in it. I was surprised by how quiet and smooth it is on the road. (like a big golf cart) I'll miss the punch of the 4.7L V8 but it just wasn't necessary and with our smaller budget now the dramatic gas savings makes sense.

Taking delivery tomorrow night, car looks like this…

It's being delivered with snow tires on it, and I won't even bother with the stock LRR tires that come with it in the spring but instead put on a good set of tires with some grip and wet weather traction. (every review I've read recommends this) The sacrifice of a couple of MPG's won't matter for the extra safety.

Make no mistake, the car is an appliance, and from everything I've read and seen, ideally suited to it's job. I don't expect more then that from it. I do think it's nerdy-cool in it's own way and I'm a little nerdy so that works.

I've still got my Land Cruiser if I want to drive over stuff.

Swimmin in my wake, Dave.......thanks for rubbing it in that I am cruiserless.

I do like the interior of the new ones with the extra space under the console by your feet. Mine's a 2007 and definitely has lots of interesting gadgets and system monitors. 2.9% financing on a used car was too good to pass up

I'm driving my Prius to Toronto tomorrow. Very interested in finding out how much gas I'll use and what my real mpg's will be.

Definitely love the car. Zero to 60 is horribly slow which takes some getting used to. Had it on the highway today and it cruised along nicely at 80 mph.
