I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the Donald and Melania Trump have Coronavirus. Are we not to discuss politics here so nobody has posted about it?
She was in downtown Belmont yesterday

Just figured it was so inevitable it wasn’t worth mentioning.

Check in the CHAT section. I’m sure there are plenty on both sides of the coin on that story. I wish him health and a long life.

Numbers trending up again, and appear to be the highest they've ever been.

Cooper's regulations changing again (slightly more restrictive) at 5pm on Friday:

Troubling, but it's encouraging that he indicated our numbers are not as bad as other southern states. Also his note that he's taking the advice of the health experts and leaving the outdoor gathering guidelines alone and focusing on what is likely the real potential threat for ongoing spread (especially with colder weather) the indoor gatherings with no ventilation...

James, NC is clearly doing better because you canceled Logans Run while other states still had events like GSMTR lol ;) JK

Sucks that numbers are rising although they seem to be in lots of places. But glad NC is faring better than surrou ding states. You guys be safe. Decided against going to the olympus rally this weekend sadly.
The spectator areas that are preassigned are just too small and tight for my liking this year.

We are surging here but not in the major population areas and its been that way for a while. Sadly as soon as the virus turned into a political beast openly being stupid about it became a badge of freedom. Thats not knocking people on the right so much here because people on the left were equally stupid in the other direction because.... politics.

The silver lining this election day is that Inslee has acted like you day Cooper is now. Listening to science and reason while trying to let us out and preserve the economy at the same time. It showed that party lines were softening on the Virus when he won reelection by a large amount. It was supposed to be much closer but it showed that people are taking it more seriously and approved with his handling of it even though he was on the wrong party ticket.

So I am watching the news this morning and they are talking about a new test that you can take at home, COOL right?

Requires a prescription.

That's stupid. Maybe this just means that you have to get it through a doctor via phone call, not OTC? Not sure, but prescription implies you need a doctor's appointment before you can get it.

Article I assume you're referring to:

Stupid, that was my point. Throw in an extra step of either calling or going to a Dr for a script. Saw it on TV news.

Probably for insurance purposes, part of our healthcare unnecessary overpriced fawkery. Likely is free in every other gawdamn country though.

I fully agree. In this case I would think it is cheaper to get ahead of this thing than to clean up on the back end. But what do I know, I am not a politician.

Lobbyists for doctors emphatically disagree with being able to gain access to a test. Where’s our lobbyist? Who watches out for us? We get censored, ignored, shat upon, and left out in the cold to fend for ourselves.

"We the people" do not have enough money for equal representation within our current form of government.

We the people barely have enough money for health care. I did the math about two years ago looking at all my health care monthly premiums from job to job and when it changed and then looked through all of our health care expenses, payments to doctors, copays, ER visits, etc...... for the both of us if we had not paid any of it we would have been able to pay for our current house in cash and then bought a ford GT just about. That isn't even starting to touch the money all my employers also paid into my healthcare also.
Its sad, it doesn't have to be that way. We already pay, as a country, more per capita out of taxes for health care also when compared to all the EU countries. So we have us paying hundreds of thousands out of pocket, our employers doing about the same, and the gov't also paying more per citizen than the UK gov't would and they are picking up the whole bill.
One reason we are like this. Zero, well next to zero, oversight and regulation from the government on health care costs.

The amount of money big pharma and the medical industry pumps into the political systems guarantees that Al. Lets face it, democracy and capitalism are a pay to play system. That is why the laws were changed a while back so that corporations can donate to political campaigns just like individual citizens.

This is nuts.
