I've been cutting my own hair since I was 16. I cut Shannon's hair for years before she moved on to the professionals. I cut Sarah hair for a while and Shannon and I share the duty of cutting Jacob's hair. When news came out people had to cut their own hair because of stay at home orders, I didn't think it was that big of a deal.

My haircuts come about 16 to a pack for around $12. ;)

Tell me if I'm overreacting:

We have a fairly large no soliciting sign by our front door - can't miss it.
Dude from a roofing company walks up to the front door just now - through the yard and flower bed, no less...
Rings the doorbell and stands there waiting for me to open it...
I don't - because even before the pandemic, **** door to door salespeople
Then he opens the screen door and places a paper pamphlet in the door

What in the ****? Seriously? Is that guy an 'essential' worker as a roofing salesman?

NCroofing is the company name. I think it's a lack of any real intelligence or awareness on their part that they would have this guy driving around ringing doorbells and handing out flyers...

If you had a sign, he shouldn't have walked up. He may be a small business owner who's watching his business evaporate because of this pandemic, and trying to save it by knocking on doors.

Annoying under normal circumstances, but idk if we can fault him.

See this kinda s*** pisses me off. Some doofus 'friend' of mine on Facebook:

Covid death rate: 25,949 US deaths/612,380 US confirmed cases = 4.23%
Flu: per cdc about 60,000 flu deaths/est. 50,000,000 cases= 0.12% Most people with flu work through it at home.
4.23 / 0.12= covid is est. 35.25 times deadlier than flu.

Moron. Confirmed cases versus estimated cases - how the hell do you not notice that the two denominators are different. It doesn't matter how I explain to them the fundamental flaw in that math, they assume it's because I'm somehow trying to down play the issue.... Nah - just don't like stupid math. It's almost as dumb as stating that vehicle gas mileage in England is better because they get more miles to the gallon, and then following up that it doesn't matter that an imperial gallon isn't the same - and claiming it must be because I'm anti England....

Moron.

FYI re Stimulus Money: I've been doing direct deposit for years without having to enter any updated bank information, however, just discovered that to receive stim money I needed to enter my banking info at the IRS website. The same was true for some other relatives. If you don't have $$ yet it may be worth checking:

Same here, just went on the new website today and it said they didn’t have my direct deposit info. Had to re enter the same info that was in my tax return.

Just got mine. Based on my 2018 income so it's peanuts. 2019 I was unemployed for the full year - and yes, we filed our taxes already for 2019 and they still calculated it based on 2018.... jerks.

Tells me my eligibility can't be determined :( Bet the IRS could track me down in a heartbeat if I owed them money though :)

Did you get a Reefmonkey haircut kit, too???

Hahaha. They’re limited edition. Shhh or everyone will want one.

I always do DD. I do not see the specific link to update bank info. Anyone know it?

Small Business owners, has anyone been given any of the PPP (the big, beautiful, yuge, like no one has ever seen before program) money or is it all smoke and mirrors again? Just wondering, we applied seconds after it opened with Bank of America, and our banker is telling us nothing is moving.

Interesting, I’m hearing similar stories from almost all of the suppliers I deal with at work. They applied right away and have heard nothing. I recently (yesterday maybe?) read an article about how almost all of the available funds have been spoken for.

Yes, funds are flowing but your story suggests everyone isn't getting the same experience. My spouse's company submitted their application on the Friday program opened, promissory note was signed on the following Wednesday, and funds were in their bank account less than 24 hours later.

They initially tried to submit with BoA on that Friday but switched to a local community bank after BoA said they were not immediately processing applications unless they met certain criteria related to the business's relationship with BoA.

One of my wife's clients has received their PPP funds as well. And it was a large sum as their employee count nearly disqualifies them.
