Well, my search for an LX570 finally paid off. At first I was looking at a 2013 and up for the body style and what I thought offered more features but after doing more research I realized that there were very little changes (that mattered to me from 08-14) So I picked up a 2011 one owner Corporate owned LX with excellent service records from a small used car dealership out of Parker, CO. The truck was serviced regularly at Kuni Lexus and some notable things on the Service records included new carpet through out the whole truck due to a "red stain". Sounds like it was covered under some additional warranty bought called Lux care.

Anyway, I flew in from SoCal to CO Saturday morning and drove it back a little over 1100 miles back to SoCal! All problem free miles (knock on Bubinga wood). Before I left CO I bought some wheels and tires off a mud member and the truck handled pretty well with loose weight in the back, AHC compensated for the weight and MPG was around 17-19 all the way back.

Here are some photos of my previous vehicle

And here are some cellphone photos of the new to me LX!

Of course after all this seat time with car I got to notice some issues with the car that I will work on fixing over the next few weeks, as well as baselining the truck with new fluids, Rad, WP, rotors, brakes, drive belt, and a few other things.

Issues/Flaws
Spoiler cracked - (Garage door hit it when hatch was opened)
Wood panel separating on drivers side door (where seat mem controls are)
Paint chips
Rear hatch on passenger side looks misaligned, cannot tell if its tail lights that are misaligned or actual hatch - will update
Headlight washers do not work
Washer fluid level sensor bad (Hoping fixing it will fix the washers)
Rain sensing feature on wipers not working
Windshield is not OEM and noticed wind noise from driver side, after inspecting further looks like the windshield trim is not on tight
Since the cabin is so quiet, slight vibration or rattle from passenger front area (probably just going to lube the window track
Door chock seems to pop on Driver side (metal looks very dry, door is aligned properly)

For an 11 year old vehicle I think I did pretty good, I know most wouldn't notice a majority of these flaws (with the exception of the cracked spoiler and headlight washers)

Would love to know if any of you have feedback on this!

Been following your montero on insta, was wonderin when you'd show up here

Headlight washers will only function when lights are actually on.

Was it in an accident? The rear hatch/tailgate is a serious piece of metal - misalignment would be concerning to me.

Address the windshield asap before it leaks and create electrical headaches for you. Go OEM with all trim and strongly encourage use of OEM AGC glass.

Rain sensing feature may just be an unplugged sensor. Remove shrouding beneath mirror and evaluate connection. Some disconnect to return proper functionally of intermittent wipers.

Good to know on the headlight washers, no accidents. I should clarify what's off in the rear look like the lights on the rear fender and lights on the tailgate, I am sure someone took them out to change a bulb and didn't bother aligning. The windshield is sealed and good, its a rubber trim piece that goes over the glass to prevent wind noise I would assume. Thanks for the tip on the rain sensor! I will take a look this weekend.

Ill post more pics of the flaws soon.

also, do you know if the OEM AGC glass was acoustic? I assume the OEM was UV filtered as well so my plan was to 3M UV clear tint the current one. Until it cracks, then go through insurance with an OEM AGC replacement

yes. Acoustic laminated

Question for everyone, as I wait for my hard copy manuals from Lexus - and take some time to download the FSM, I cannot get my iPhone to play music via the USB outlet on the LX, does it play music via phones and only use USBs with.mp3 files?

Not sure gen 1 will do anything with that usb except power. What does the owner manual say?

Updated post 2 with photos of the rear tailgate and the misalignment to the rear quarter panel. I am going to adjust the bushings that press against the tail-gate lock first as it seems like it has shifted a tad which might be causing the issue.

In other news I got the car up on the lift today and my two front struts are seeping. Looking into purchasing new struts and since AHC has to be bled I will probably do the rear shocks as well including the top hats, isolators, and spring cushions. Debating on replacing the coils while I have it apart...

Other than that, everything else looks pretty good!

Oh and 04UZJ100 thanks for the tip of headlights have to be on for the washers to work! They do work, and man they spray everywhere

Probably should post more. Quite a lot has changed.

- Small sensor lift all around
- GROM VLINE
- Slee Sliders
- RWs with Michelin Defenders LTX
- F sport center caps
- ARB base rack
- ARB Drawers
- Slee group 31 battery mount

Probably a few other things here and there.

I have some Polytuff trim packers I plan to install to ease AHC pressures.

In the mean time I’ve been messing with wheel and tire combos and I am now settled on RWs with Michelin Defenders. Lightest combo and I have heard very good things about the Defenders offroad. Today proved it :)

Hit up Berdoo Canyon and tackled all the rocky offshoots. Not punctures and this have to be the smoothest tire I’ve used on and offroad
