Intro: After growing up seeing my big bro camcruiser13 build his fj40 up I have always been heavily interested in fabrication and rock crawling, I wanted to get my own cruiser, I have had and wheeled an 87 suzuki Samurai since high school up until a few years ago. Finally after years of asking, my coworker finally caved and sold me his cruiser.
GAME ON!

I spent about 1 week messing around with the factory carb then rebuilt it, it ran but would not idle, so I pulled the weber 38 off the Sammy I am parting out. Purrs like a kitten now.

Once I got it running other things have come to my attention, radiator leaks from attempted seal by po via JBweld. It failed. So I ordered and installed a spiffy new aluminum radiator. Only to find out it would take 4 miles to blow the lower radiator hose which has since been replaced with marine exhaust hose (overkill).
Installed.

Looks like fun, where did you get the rad? Looks specific to the 60?

Looks like you are no longer using your accelerator bellcrank bracket with your new carb. I can see the drop arm swung up out of the way.
If you want to get rid of it... send me a PM. I busted one of the plastic bushings on mine.

I may still be using it if I decide to do the 2f modified carb(don't like how the weber cut out in steeper angles), or FI, but I will let you know if anything changes

Wile looking on leak duty I found one culprit, the valve cover gasket was shot, I couldn't find a gasket set in stock so I used the gasket maker in a cheese wiz can needless to say it works phenomenally.
Pics of the degreaser clean up and after the reinstall.

I Need to get longer brake lines but I have taken care of the shock mounts with some 1/4 wall rectangle tube and 5/8" hardware

And have notched the cross member for the front driveline and reinforced it

once you get your suspension all set up how you want it is take those axles out and strip them down and paint them, those knuckles look like they're due for a rebuild. You are probably planning on pulling the diffs to regear for bigger tires right? Make sure you do all of this at the same time so you aren't doing two axle rebuilds in a row.
