Spent the week camping and some picking in the UP of Michigan. Saw a lot of cool stuff but prices were on the high side (for me anyway.) Saw about 4 oddball suitcase stoves I had never seen before. But who needs more of those. One guy had a very nice Coleman Quicklite as well as a very nice nickel NuLite both with almost perfect original mica globes. If I was collector more than user I would have snagged some of the stuff but I'm downsizing anyway. Did grab a never fired 220J with box, papers and SilkLites. Also scored a pretty much complete QuickLite table lamp that was labelled "for parts" for $10 but is complete except for the glass shade which you never see anyway.

Nothing new to show off, but I fired up this old “beauty” tonight to add a little ambience to our dinner on the patio. If I could only keep one lantern, it is this one (242C).

There is nothing perfect about it other than its collection of imperfections.

It has a slightly leaky valve stem when cold, but is the best runner in my stash.

I could agree more about the 242C. Absolutely fantastic little lanterns. I think the best Coleman ever produced. Looks like that one is running strong as well and great logos on that original globe.

Just finished up a 1950 nickel fount 220D with reflector. Cleaned up pretty well and runs strong. Now just waiting a couple of days for my replacement globe after the USPS broke the original during shipping.

I know it’s not a Coleman but I figure pretty much everyone on this forum appreciates vintage Japanese made equipment. This is a Camplete lantern model 7320 with original box. Made in Japan in the late 60’s early 70’s. Pretty much exactly a Coleman except you can see some Asian influence on the top hat of the vent. Big thanks go to @cruiser4life for grabbing this for me from his neck of the woods and holding it till I could get it picked up. Can’t wait to get a chance to clean it up a little and fire it up.

That's very cool. Thanks for posting that up.

I can get either of these 200As for $45 shipped. Seller says the one on the left is original paint and decal and the vent is better. 1/71. Yall think that's a good buy? Anything other details I should ask him about? I was looking to spend a little less, but these look like they're in pretty good condition to me.

Single mantels are getting so much money these days. The one on the left beats current eBay pricing especially when shipping is included. Couple things - on my monitor it looks as if both burner cages have been painted silver. Also on the one on the left you only see one side of the vent. From the front it looks good but you might want to ask for more pics, including the bottom of the lantern. Not common for these to rust through - but buying sight unseen is always risky.

If you have the patience I would just spend the summer at garage sales, flea markets and junk stores as you can. You are bound to find better for less $.

Very reasonable for a shipped 200A in that shape. I would also ask for the two-piece cap from the other lantern. (I would even pay a few bucks extra for it.)

So did 200a's in '71 have single piece caps?

Mine was unfired, in the original box, with the original paperwork, so I'll go with yes.

To be honest I have no preference between 1 piece and 2 piece ... the only real difference is the rubber cap gasket lasts a little longer on the two piece, and some say the 2 piece is easier to unscew when the tank is pressurized.

Sorry, no experience with lanterns. He suggested I get insurance on the shipment in case the globe doesn't survive the trip. He also mentioned the mantle. Why would the mantle not survive shipping?
