Rescued this early 70s 426B from a local pawn shop. Started off at $100 went back twice and ended up getting it for $45. In good shape and started right up. Made coffee on it this morning. Not garage sale prices but better than FleaBay where the collectors get all the good ones. I have five stoves, does that make me a collector? Special note, don't try an SOS pad on these, especially dead in the middle of the top of the case trying to remove tape residue!

AND SORRY MY TYPO THAT'S A 426"D" THREE BURNER NOT A "B"

I'm liking these three burners. Might have to find me one.

BY THE WAY ... want some advice from you "Stovies" on the best bags for a Coleman 425G (the smaller compact two burner), the 413G (the larger older style two burner) and this 426D (the newest one above three burner). Dimensions for stoves as follows by my tape:
425G -- 18x12x5
413G -- 22x14x6
426D -- 28.5x14x6
I've looked at choices from Camp Chef and also some company called GasOne on Amazon but haven't found a great alternative. The smallest of the above the 425G fits in a $3 soft sided suitcase I got at Goodwill but not optimum. Wanting something where I can put a small bottle 32oz of fuel inside. The ones that Coleman sells. On the larger stoves I can put this size bottle inside the stove easily, along with funnels etc even a small stainless cook kit.
OPEN TO ALL SUGGESTIONS. THANKS.

last question, what's best for cleaning this center grease tray inside the stove under the burners?

really the last question, does anyone know if the Coleman chef trays will work with this era stove that has the oval cutouts in each end versus the diamond shape of just a few years' earlier production? thanks.

426s are awesome for offroad camping trips. I have a 426D you can have if you come through Northern California or want to mud ship.

For cleaning the inside of the stove, I use simple green about once per season. The grease helps to rust proof it.

That makes you an addict. Welcome to the club. 3-burners are awesome I have a "C" that's a clean user for bigger groups.

I've found Formula 409 with paper towels to be the best. i end up going through a lot in a weekend. Brillo pad if you have to but I figure you're taking plating and paint off every time with abrasives.

Dunno. I'm not familiar with the chef trays. I've found this to be a great fit on 425 or 413 sizes for $10.

Sure it's cheap Chinese cast iron but with enough seasoning it's fine. Very thick so shouldn't warp.

They should fit...

Bonus score!

I looked at the bags here:
FrogSacks

I don’t see them listed any more, but you should be able to do an image search...
And ended up making my own.
Hope this helps!

Here's my 83 redwood behind 83 '60! :D
(413G is still in rig cuz I forgot fuel, doh!) new-school coleman stove with adapter hose to bulk propane kicks a** tho too!

hey bud how heavy is that old coleman camper do you think? I've been looking for something to pull with my 89 FJ62 converted to five speed manual.

So no easily available bags for these larger stoves?

You could probably find a duffle that would fit, but the only purpose built bags I saw were the frog sacks, and a fleeting image or 2 of a Coleman issue one from the 70’s. (It has a zipper. )
The Frog Sacks model was around $70.00 if I remember...might be worth a phone call if you’re interested.
If you can run a sewing machine, $70 will get you a lot of material...the color of your choice!
I had fun making it too, it was a great winter project!
