Right, bad typing on my part.
Both lanterns do run, have used them lots over the years. Not for a while though, might be time to fire them up for a health check.
jonnyquest - yes they're canadian. They should have made the Canadian version the 200eh.
one of those red 200s just sold for 50 bucks round here- they never last long; people know. I missed the all red one and an American green and red one in a 2 week span of time...
They are only expensive when you want one. I've bought several 200As for under $20 and one was a freeby at a yard sale down the block. A kind member on the Coleman forum gave me a 200A because it was my birthday month and year. Pretty cool. But the prices for them recently on ebay have been crazy, and thrift/consignment/antique shops seem to base pricing on that.
If you like 200A's, look at 242s. They are the best runners in my opinion. THey use basically the same valve and generator as the 200A with a superior cast brass burner. Those will likely be $50+ if people know what they have but they can occasionally be had for less.
If you just want a solid single burner for less $$, Look for 335s. These were made and sold only in Canada, but thousands, maybe millions, have migrated south over the years. These are excellent and bright but don't tend to command the $$ of a 200A. They were produced in mass-I read once they were a give away at Canadian tire in the '70's. Buy a set of tires, get a 335 fo' free. For what ever reason, actual Canadians don't like them, but I have found they are solid, dependable runners.
The search feature built into CL is really good once you tweak it, finally able to get good results locally now but most of it is pretty rusty and crusty.
NO WORRIES- the guy told me it was gone by lunch time the same day it listed... you'd have missed it anyhooo. But THANKS!!! it's for the best as I now have a nice antique from FJ60CAM and Drew is sending his old 413 army green stove...My collection is coming into being...
Last night when I saw the ad I failed to note that the stove is propane, didn't even know that old propane Coleman stoves existed so learned something here. Kinda lost interest seeing that it's propane but for $15 not likely to go wrong but I think I will follow up with it later this week.
dode, it aint propane- kids prolly don;'t know what they found in grandmas attic.... it is an old white gas stove- classic Coleman...you can get an adapter to use propane, but that stove pictured doesn't have it- it is still OG; pre pre-pressurized tanks- buy IT
