Are you planning on getting it weighed again?

Also, wouldn't the spare tire more or less be zero-sum with your previous spare (give or take a few pounds)?

Good call! I'll fix the spare.

The company I work for used to own a frac sand mine, which came with unlimited use of scales, dozers, and diggers; however, we sold it.

I finally got someone at Rigid to send me a replacement light bar! Granted, I had to buy it at full price and they said they would refund the full amount once they receive my old one 😂
I'm still out $50 for return shipping, but at least I don't have to roll without one for 3-6 weeks 🤷🏻‍♂️

I also took the time to add up all my mod weights. I was at 6460lbs exactly 1 year ago (only had the bbs and 33")...

Dissent Front: 20lbs (net of ditching crash bar and plastics)
Winch: 90lbs
Dissent Rear: 140lbs
Spare tire: 100lbs
LRA 24: 130lbs
Prinsu: 61lbs
4 x Prinsu load panels: 35?
Adapt Light bar: 23 lbs
33"--> 35": 13lbs x 4 = 52lbs
Yakima Cargo Box: 60lbs
2nd Optima Yellow: 44lbs
ARB Twin + tray : 20 + 17lbs = 37

6460 - 180lbs (my weight-ish) = 6280

6280 + mods = 7052ish
+ (24 x 8lbs gas) = 192lbs of aux gas
+ family of 6 = 510
= 7,754 without gear

What’s your vehicle GVWR and are you exceeding it? We’re in the early stages of building out ours and weight is something I’ve been concerned about.

Ah, a fellow Houstonian. Rig looks great! Couple quick questions on the rack for you if you please. Is that a 'floor' on the Prinsu? Also, since you installed it, is the cross member running across the sunroof "required" or if say, you didn't need/want it, could that have been omitted? TIA

None of the cross members are really required other than the front one for the wind fairing. You can omit the ones near the sunroof, but none of mine really block the usage as it is. The 4 "load panels" are made for the prinsu, and can be used as a floor or additional mounting points. I pretty much got them as a floor so the kids can sit up there.

GVWR is 7379. I'm easiy at 8,000 with gear.... on stock gears and brakes.

Wow, that’s heavy. Any concerns from a legal standpoint being that much over? I really appreciate you posting that weight breakdown, I was surprised by how heavy some stuff is like the compressor....it adds up quick. We’ve ordered the 40 gallon LRA and I’m working with Ben at Dissent for front and a rear swing out... this post has proved very informative and helpful.

editing to add that your weight for gas may be incorrect, I believe gas is 6.3 pounds a gallon.

Thanks. I was basing it off my recent water tank build. Water = 8.4, gasoline = 6.3. I'll clean up my breakdown in the post above.

I'm not too concerned about the weight. Honestly, I was surprised it was that much over. Still considering Ben's skids and slee sliders, but that has to be the end of it. Really.
I have an old vette that satisfies my lead foot, so I'm usually just cruising around town at grandpa speeds.

Yeah we are keeping our daily driver and, thankfully, it’s got plenty of ponies to make me smile. My concern on being over weight has more to do with the axel and bearings weight limits and any liability that would arise from a collision. Coming from a insurance background I’ve seen all types of insane lawsuits that make me wary of going over what the vehicle legal limit is. For us we can put a majority of gear in the camper we pull so all that gear would weigh the tongue weight on the hitch which is far less than it would weigh inside the vehicle. We’re gonna be closer than I had thought after seeing your breakdown.

Gears definitely seem like a good idea.

Cool, thanks!!

I actually wonder what the limiting factor is for the gvwr is on an LX. I always assumed it was the wheels and tires, but it could be the AHC. I haven’t weighed my rig, but I suspect I am close to raddad. I asked the tech at Lexus and he said that my mods were nothing to worry about. It is heavy though. It is actually a testament to the engineering of the rig though. I have had a bunch of trips lately where I am running heavy. Tons of highway miles, paved, curvy, mountain roads, and some reasonably tough trails, and I have never noticed the weight (compared to running unloaded). I have never felt an diminished control.

Lighter wallet totally offsets that.

ha! I almost added prices along with the weights. But then I realized how incredibly stupid that would have been

Thank you. My purpose would be the same, a floor for the kids to walk around on. Looks as if they are sturdy enough for that. I am trying to find a low profile rack with a floor of some sort. I like the idea of being able to remove the floor as well. Nice feature and didn't see the load panels on the Prinsu website until your reply!

The AHC specs say 3900 on rear axle and 3200 on front axle. I'm sure there is a built in safety margin as well.

I got around to calling the guys at Comeup to verify my winch weight, and the dude was nice enough to to put me on hold and weigh everything.
Winch, rope, fairlead, hook, and control box is 77lbs. (90lbs gross is the shipping weight). Weights should be fixed above

I also received my $70 42" rigidhorse. I've seen Christmas paper packaged more securely, but can't be surprised for the price! Stock mounting brackets were a little longer than I needed, but i was able to modify some real rigid brackets to get a nice tight fit.

Also scored a cheap Yakima spare tire bike rack. Diggin' it's red accents, but needed to paint the main bracket black. Nbd. Will need to modify the mounting plate to fit the 5x150 bolt pattern...

Do you have a dimmer for that light? It's going to blind whatever is behind you . . .
