This has been a few months in the making but the website is live and I'm now a supporting vendor of 'Mud.

I've designed and produced a handful of products and tools that could be of some interest to the community here. Additionally, @LJE has designed 2 of these items and is producing the 3D printed projector caps I have available. Thanks to the guys who have purchased prototype models of some of these items, you've helped me get the parts dialed in and I greatly appreciate it. Also thanks to @Wermz for the Playboy-esque photo shoot the other night. Additional parts are incoming, with the next product likely to be a tailgate kit for the 80-series. More items are in development now, but I'll keep those a secret for the time being. IYKYK. Again, thanks to Ryan @Wermz for volunteering his monster 80 on 40s to be the Guinea pig for the development.

Why am I getting in to this? Those who know me know I am a full time real estate investor. It's been my background forever, since before I could order a beer in public. Unfortunately, that is NOT going so well lately, so I purchased a plasma CNC table 2 years ago knowing I would need to diversify. These early products have been great to cut my teeth and become more familiar with the designing and production processes. I am NOT a designer, nor an engineer, but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express before. I have plans to grow this business in to much more than just me producing parts, but additional capital is required to get it where I want it. Currently it's just me in my basement, pulling a car out of the garage for room to put these items together and package them. Everything you see on the site goes through my hot little hands, nothing is ever drop shipped. All items are designed and produced here in the USA. My objective is simple, robust products that make life easier for guys like myself. Any questions can be directed to me here, or reach me at GA@theartisangarage.com

Thanks for looking!

Might reach out to you soon for the tailgate storage mod. I spilled some nuoc mam (Vietnamese concentrated fish sauce) on it while cooking. Can't get the smell out, about to burn the whole car but i think replace it might help.

I love fish sauce but I imagine it's not the best air freshener in the truck 😄

Interesting - what are your max dimensions m your plasma table, and how thick can you go? Steel, so potentially aluminum as well?

I have access to laser cutters and work with acrylic a bit when I need to cut panel stock for other projects. I can imagine some on the forum might have interest in co-design, if you’d be interested? For example, I’d love a beefy front speaker adapter option, and those would be pretty generic to many Toyotas of the same era.

My table at home is 32x48 and good for up to 1/2" (aluminum as well) but I also have access to a 5x10 laser at my local material supplier. I'm all for co-designing products. In fact, I have a contact link at the bottom of the home page for folks that have product ideas in mind. I'd offer the same as other home-vendors here, in that if it's something I can work up in to a usable product, the idea guy can have the item for free, or at the very least at cost, depending what is involved.

Ecolab degreaser, then an ozone treatment. Pull off the panel, throw it in a closet to treat heavily… I’ve used ozone for about 19 years and swear by it. It’s safe and very effective when used safely.

being an engineer is overrated :bang: the other stuff (idea/planning/logistics/etc.) is much harder. Only stuff needing an engineer are a) safety related (bumpers, etc), b) system related (engine/transmission/suspension/ etc.), c) load related (roof racks/etc.).

all other non life threatening ideas will do just fine with an "school of hardknocks) type prototyping ala "patch" (though he breaks that rule often....brute strength:rofl: wins 90% of the time).

that's not my story and I'm not sticking to it!

Nice website, love the descriptions. Will likely get a fan clutch wrench soon to support the cause. Best of luck!
Thank you! That's the brain child of @LJE here.

That fan clutch wrench design was born out of a combination of anger and desperation one night as my "try to jam against/counter torque on the fan clutch pulley nuts with a screw driver" method ended up as it usually did: with the screwdriver slipping and me putting my knuckles right into the sharp aluminum fins on the fan clutch again.

It's not that I'm taking my fan clutch off all the time, but I put out a couple feelers in the local area letting folks know that I love working on 2UZ engines & I've stayed busy (as casual side gigs go) since.

Everytime that I took off a fan clutch I thought "how has no one made a tool for this yet?!?". I eventually realized that as a highly qualified engineer (well, some of that statement is true... ) I should just design one myself. A couple 3D printed revisions later & the design materialized into what it is now.

@MongooseGA happened to be working on his website & the timing was perfect. I'm glad he's picked up the design & is running with it!

I'm probably biased since I designed this thing, but man, I love this fan clutch wrench. This is from a V8 4runner I was working on - the wrench made removing & reinstalling the fan clutch SO MUCH easier.

And, here's a bonus photo I call "guess which one of these plugs wasn't even finger tight?" Glad I caught this before this plug (which I actually think very well may be factory at 169K, seeing as none of the other 90/100K service had been done) launched itself out!

And the wrench is sold out! I'll be getting more ready to go this week. Not sure if the site will allow orders while inventory is 0. If anyone tries and has an issue, please contact me.

All orders as of this morning are packaged and will go out by Monday at the latest. This is a totally new process for me; I've already learned some improvements to be made in the packaging process. Case in point, I need to buy self-adhesive shipping labels

Thanks to everyone! I'm waiting for the first order of the production model of the tailgate kit. It adds a ton of functionality to the back of your truck and if you're slick like Alex @LJE you can even retain your factory carpet if you'd like.

I just ordered a wrench and it processed without issue. No rush on shipping - fingers crossed I won't need it for a few years. Thanks!

Thank you! I updated the inventory with an additional count of 15, and will have those ready to go out by middle of this coming week. I also changed a setting allowing for orders to be placed even if shown inventory is zero.

@LJE did a great job designing it. I hope it saves you some bloody knuckles when you do need it :)

All orders placed by noon EST on Saturday were packaged and shipped this morning. If you placed an order after noon on Saturday the 22nd, it will go out by the end of this week. Thanks to everyone!

OK I lied.

Orders placed after noon this past Saturday will get shipped out tomorrow!

Inventory is updated on the site.

It won't be long before my Ms kills me for taking up the whole dining room table so get your tools and parts while I'm still breathing.
