Inside joke from one of the barn trips over the winter IIRC. @custyota has #fatballs

#fatballspartdeux @erymer
The mere thought of it alone gets me laughing. #fatballspartdeux. Believe me guys it was a late night at the barn and much alcohol had been consumed. @GLTHFJ60

Not sure how I missed this thread but definitely an interesting idea. Love no set plans. Although I think it would be fun to meet up with any local cruiser clubs along the way on our hot shower/cold beer stops. That would be an epic trip.

My reality is that trips to Moab and Rubicon are not even on the radar at this point. A trip up the East Coast like this may well turn out to be Epic and once in a life time.

We are going to try to get some of the interested parties together at Logan's Run, probably on Sat, to sit down and get a feel for what everyone is interested in and see if we can come up with a loose idea. This trip is not something that will happen this year but next 2017.

So far..........

Loose travel schedule with no set itinerary
Contact clubs along the way ahead of time to meet up with others on the way
Drive South to North first

Resurrection time

Any folks that find this at least a possibility, how about sitting down for a little at the X mas party and talking about it.

1. @NCFJ- Stan, Heather and Sam(dog)
2. @fj40alex , Alex ?
3. @forrest5000 , Eric ?
4. @LockedNLoaded , James ?
5. @weejub, Jamie, Heather ?
6. @fourtrax , Eric ?
7. @erymer , Eric, Stacy and kids,3

If it's that far out. I'm game again.

You missed the intent. The idea is much like our last trip to HC in May. Follow as close as possible to the AT.

Me, Tandy and the 2 mutts would be down to go if the dates correspond with our crazy schedule. Been dumping money into the LX. I want to use it!

NCFJ, you caught my attention. Having hiked from GA to Shenandoah, and many sections multiple times, driving the cruiser with lil mush and furry kids alongside or near that same route sounds fun.

Stan - I am in for discussions. :)

I plan to hike it in 10 years, might be nice to visit the towns along the way

In ten years? Not this guy I'd be 66. I hiked a lot on the trail in the late 70s early 80s in my teens and early 20s and it was tiring on a good day.

That's my retirement goal...You're the same age as me. I've backpacked a lot, and I love it, but the kids these days want to have phone and internet when they camp.
