Tony made the comment in our texts that it looks like the windows have been out before. I agree, they were pulled to paint it blue. A rarity in Latin America but this was an OAS Cruiser, so budget I am sure wasn’t such an issue. How long ago it was painted blue is anybody’s guess. Pretty happy with all pinch welds in the cargo windows, this truck did spend its life in a tropical environment.

I am really enjoying the rotisserie. :)

The roof looks a bit wavy.

Ah yes, a pop-top. :)

At least you are not pitching a perfectly good roof skin.

So there is a bit more prep before blasting. The above pics are of rear floor crossmembers. Those are packed full of dirt so I need to open them up to clean them out as well as allow some access to the blaster.

Need to remove old sound deadening on passenger floor pan and on the firewall.

Rear wheel wells I think I am going to burn off the factory seam sealer sprayed on them.

The floor has some old low grade bedliner on it here and there, I will need to remove some of this before blasting.

I am sure it looks really bad to some of you but inside the crossmember doesn’t look rotten. These are also really easy repairs.

Cheers

You can see they are actually not to bad once cleaned out, some areas worse than others.

I am getting ready to open them up a bit more since the floor on top of the crossmembers is thin here and there and pitted. Also will allow the blaster to get inside pretty well.

Cheers

For anyone looking to quiet down their off road tractor, these guys are doing a 25% off Black Friday deal. Saved myself some nice cash.

Pretty well cleaned, got some studs and races to pull but other wise good to go.

Well shoot... this broke my resolve to NOT participate in any Black Friday sales...

Nice.

One minor roadblock with the axle but we'll figure it out. Takeaway, don't let mechanical-declined people help with your hub rebuild (Not Ian, another guy who helped when I did the rear hubs before delivering it up to Idaho).

The steering box probably deserves a pardon;)

The steering box probably deserves a pardon;)

It’s non p/s, has 605,000kms on it and to me it does not even look like a Toyota box.
