I wanted to convert my 1962 back to 3 on the tree, so sticking with the one piece steering column and gear box was key. The early ones were 2 bolts, not sure what year but the later ones are 4 bolts. So you need the correct pedestal.
Fist picture is what came on mine, had been all cut up, welded and all sorts of problems. You can see the two bolts.
second picture is the new pedestal that has the 4 bolts, bought it off the classifieds here with the column and most parts needed for 3 on the tree. Got the rest I needed from a different user here on mud.
third picture is of the new one (late 1960's) installed.
Hard part was drilling out the riviets and pounding them out to get the old one off, the rest was straight forward bold on replacement. Make sure you use the correct strongest bolts you can buy.
