I'm jealous. this trip looks like it was a blast. I'll have to keep a watch out for future expeditions once I fix my truck and have spare money.... it might be a while actually, but I'll still keep watch.

My shot of Chris on gas can rock where he munched his cans. Was there much damage Chris? I didn't think there was any but I really couldn't tell and didn't get a close look.

My roof is pretty straight

My cans and carrier are done.Prolly wouldnt have hurt them as much if I didnt try to back over them  There was a guy beside me saying something about the cans.I asked if they were leaking,he said no,so I kept it in reverse and gave em a few more shots

I always try and crawl stuff first and then hammer down if need be.I should have just done the old Moab bump and hit it in 3rd from the git go :hillbilly:

You cant really tell in this pic,but I dont really need a hold down anymore. They are kinda crimped into the carrier at the bottom now :hillbilly:

Thanks for the pic

Amazing stuff guys. Except for the mosquitos, it looks like you guys had some great times. I have 3 new 60's I'm in love with now. I love that pig too!

I got some one wheel stand pics on the climb around the mud pit.

I was a little too far over so I kept it on the ground.

After setting up camp some of us got in to wash off the trail. It was pretty cold and everyone had their own method of getting in but it was refreshing after you got out. We ate, watched a movie, chatted and tried to go to bed. It was easier to sleep once the heavy metal music was finally turned off a 3am. I'd definitely like to go back but probably won't camp on the slabs next time.

That wraps up Day 2

Day 3 was a relaxing, lounge around kind of day. It was hard at first just to sit around since I've been pounding away on my truck for the last 2 years but it was well deserved and peaceful for the most part. Our little group did move positions but that didn't end up helping much at night as we exchanged music for traffic. At least we got to have a campfire and we were closer to the outhouses.

During the day Andy lead a hike to a swimming hole about an hour away. Again the mosquitos were relentless and everyone had a swarm hitchhikers drilling into their backs as we hurried to the spot. With healthy amounts of peer pressure most of us braved the chilly water to swim over to the waterfall. The first 20 feet were the worst and once you got numb it wasn't bad.

That night was the dinner and the raffle. Plenty of food and a couple really desirable prizes that walked away with other attendees. We gathered wood during the day and had a camp fire while others stayed for the open bar after dinner. The next day we were exiting at 8am. There were good stories shared and you could see the milky way nice and clear.

wow, there was an open bar camping? that's a good way to camp. surprising that no one went overboard and woke up in a tree.

Someone may have. I didn't stick around the next day to see the aftermath, I wanted to get on the trail before they did.

nice pics guys looks like a good time..... love the wagon train idea ...go the 60's.. how good is that to be able to do the holy grail of trail... i would really love to be able to bring my 60 back home and do the con with u blokes... sad to hear about the freeway status of the con though..do u think the will close it anytime soon? here's a few pics of my 60 and comp team.. and being Yankee i like the big rigs lol...

wow...great photos!

i especially like all of the 3-wheel motion pics! one of the best things to do in a Toyota!

unfortunately for me, it looks like my 60 is about $15,000 short of making it over the Rubicon anytime soon...:p

great thread!

Here is the last of my photos. Saturday we woke up, ate and packed it all back in. Cruiserdrew was leaving and we wanted to be part of his group to get up Cadillac hill. The mosquitos were awake and the trail was slick.

Here's a one wheel stand on cadillac. A spotter was going to give him some counter weight (he's standing in the wheel that's in the air) but a winch was pulled instead to keep him on the ground.

I waited for Andy to come back down and he said he didn't have any magic but that he'd spot me through.

Magic or not, he's done the trail several times so his experience was plenty of magic for me to negogiate the obstacle without much problem.

Up at top. We stopped a couple times to keep Matt's rig from melting on the way up. Portland crew for a photo op.

There were still plenty of fun spots on the way down but we could pick up the pace some.

2105009690041288937S600x600Q85.jpg

We got actually little higher than this.

2260994020041288937S600x600Q85.jpg

There were several water crossings as we got closer to the staging area.

2637630230041288937S600x600Q85.jpg

Once we got to the staging area an army of $50 compressors fired up. It was better than surround sound. I checked for loose bolts and found none. I pounded my overloads back into position and checked my fluids.

It was a fun group to wheel with. Left to Right: Jim (Clints brother), Clint, Andy, Andy's son, Me, Matt, Dylan.
