Hey Deo,

You guys pitching a tent or sleeping in the back on SSS?

For Arthur and I to sleep comfortably inside, I’ll need to lay down the spare or get a hitch mounted spare tire carrier. I’ll then need to construct a platform over the wheel wells to make a big flat area that will accommodate the both of us.

Pitching a tent would be so much easier, but I prefer to sleep inside the vehicle.

Since we take our van on 99% of all adventures, building out the rear of the pig for 1-2 camping trips a year doesn’t make much sense. That being said I’m going to rig something up simple before sss anyway.

You’ll like those seats, they give you more leg room too ... had a set in my old piggy 🐷

Yeah, they are great. The 80 series floor in the 55 wore these seats for years, we’ve covered some ground. Nice to have them back together.

Other “Cruisers” around the garage. The supercharged 1uz for the 60 has been sold and a stock 2f has gone back in. I ended up trading the 60 for a fst I helped assemble years ago. The five speed has been installed and I’m doing the knuckles before the trade.

This lil red 1999 FunCruiser has a five speed, awd / center diff lock and is a drop top. I picked it up to do some gambler500 racing. The thing is smaller than most SXS and has Ac. At 2400lbs, it’ll be “fun” to toss around in the dirt and take over mountain passes.

Yeah all the seats fold flat! Old man emu makes a lift which I have on the way. Some 29” tires, reversed Ironman Ivan livery and she’ll be ready for action. (File photos)

So many parts out the 80 bin. The large front doors, tall greenhouse/ windshield make you feel like you are in a smaller version. It has the 90s pinnacle TOYOTA feeling. Glass headlights and all.

These snazzy seat covers look right at home in this s***box until the Lseat leather arrives.

Frank thinks Sss is this weekend, so he’s here putting in the relays and switch for the lockers at the last minute.

This will be the basic sleeping layout. I’ll build a wooden platform that is level with the yeti in the back. I have 2 memory foam mattresses (not pictured) that will go on top of it. This leaves enough room underneath for the spare, stove, chairs etc. There is also room on either side of the cooler for duffles. I’ll need to make the platform surround the yeti, while still being able to remove and drain it while on the road.

The cooler, spare and platform will all be secured to the rig, most likely by straps, so it will all be quickly removable. I won’t make the platform wider than the rear hatch opening.

Have we talked about how intoxicated you must have been to buy crayons/pencils and color this picture??

Those crayons/ pencils from my kids art supply room.

I picked the car up in Kansas which gave me plenty of time to come up with the paint scheme on the ride home. I couldn’t wait to put the pencil to the paper once I got back to Florida and no I don’t drink and drive!

You are sitting at a school desk in your boxer shorts surrounded with coloring crayons drawing little cars and you want us to believe this is completely normal sober behavior for you?

💯

I’m no Foose or Simon for that matter, but I only have to make one person happy.
