Has any fitted a TSM FJ 60 Land Cruiser Transfer Case Parking brake to a FJ40 fitted with an H55 box?

Hi All:

Humm, interesting!

I don't see any reason that this split t-case mounted e-brake would care what vehicle it was installed in! ;) Seriously, unless there are clearance issues with the body tub or frame, the biggest obstacle I see is rigging-up an e-brake cable that can provide enough force to engage the brake mechanism.

I say go for it, and report back to us here on MUD, with photos! :D

Good luck!

Alan

I've got to disagree. You've got a 4:1 mechanical advantage due to the diff gears. In 4wd and even better, with lockers, you have an ultra-strong 4 wheel disk e-brake. It's very low-profile. The price is right too.

So build a strong enough skid plate to protect it. The question is, can the stock ebrake lever give enough force to make this work? Please let us know if anyone has done this and if it works.
