I've decided I could do with just one short bed truck.
With this economy being what it is, maybe a trade
would work out best. It will take me some time to make a list of the resto/mod
as it's quite extensive. I literally poured thousands of hours and dollars into
this truck. A few things left to be done are, front end alignment, front bumper
and all around tweaking before it's a solid driver. Less than 50 miles on this yeller truck. Looking for something cool to trade. I can probably account for about 50k without labor.

Where and how much?? Nice looking truck BTW.

Located in Montana. I believe 30k will be the number. Paint and body was over 10k. Thanks.

Tom, DON"T DO IT!

I've seen this rig, it is nicely done, Everything Tom does it top notch.

Good luck with the sale.
Paul

What an awesome ride!! Absolutely love the color and finish work!

A fine job on that 45!

Wow - that is really nice!

I wish this was available back in August - before I bought my '77.

Good luck with the sale & I hope the next owner appreciates all the effort put into it.

Any details on the drivetrain and other changes from original?

The front and rears are from a 78' FJ40 for the ratio and front disks. Both rebuilt by a pro and powdercoated.
Original transfer case with a 700r tranny. The 350 is a new crate motor. I'm still traveling until Sunday. Hope to post a complete list when I get home.

PM sent. Will be in Missoula visiting family would love to come and look at the truck.

A more complete description

Thanks for the plug Paul.

The following describes what was accomplished regarding the transformation of this 1965 Fj45 short bed.
In nearly all aspects of this project, new parts were purchased if available.

After the complete tear down. The frame was fitted with new motor mounts, blasted and powder coated.

The front and rears were changed out with those of a 1978 FJ40 for the gear ratio and front disk brakes.
Professionals rebuilt and powder coated. New rear brakes drums for the rears an new disks for the front.
All brakes and components are new. New brake lines, master and booster. Newly rebuilt 700r tranny and rebuilt
original tranny case. New tranny cooler. New hubs. How about from here on out that everything is new unless otherwise noted.
Disclaimer: I'm human and allowed to make a mistake or two in my descriptions. Tail, bib, fender and head lights. Wiring harness.
Headlight and electric radiator fan relays. Radiator and electric fan. Custom carpet, upholstery and headliner. Visors, windshield washer motors,
door handles, window regulators. All window glass, rubber, weather stripping. Tilt column and fancy steering wheel, saginaw power steering (Rebuilt).
Chrome all over the truck. Cd player in glove box. Old style original hood ornament that I paid dearly for off of Ebay but nice to have. All exposed stainless fasteners have had the ID removed and polished to mirror finish. Interior knobs have been restored and clear coated. Running boards.
OME springs and shocks. Shackels. Front and rear drivelines. Tires wheels and Dakota digital instruments. (About $1,000) Exhaust system.
GM 350 crate motor. Qjet carb, GM type distributor. Cool flex hoses. In fact one can see this is where I came across a Summit catalog. Pulleys, brackets,
Lokar etc,. Ceramic coated exhaust manifolds. Body work and paint. About (12k) Rust was dealt with properly as far as I know. Pieces cut out and replaced.
Spot welds don't show. One coat of primer, two coats of white and two coats of Daytona Yellow. (Corvette color) I'm sure there's more but you should have a pretty good idea what work was performed. Not perfect but pretty nice.
