Duramax and Corona time. We're devout followers of both faiths. Eat drink and be merry - I'm gonna break more s***e again this - have a set of 39" red label Krawlers coming next week. :flipoff2:

gsmtr

are there any guitar/fiddle/banjo players in the group. if so bring your instruments, i am taking up a guitar and a bad singing voice. time for a hoot-nanny

I have a CD player :)

Change of plans

I will NOT be attending GSMTR this year. Circumstances have changed
and I'll be somewhere else that week.
I've sent the $100 deposit for the cabin but someone else will have to carry the ball from here on out.
The cabin link and contact number is posted earlier in this thread.
I'd appreciate it if someone attending would confirm they have taken the lateral
on this rental.
I'd like to inform the owner by the next club meeting at Ralph Hayes if
any GSMTR attendees are still renting the cabin.

WHA?!?! I hope everything is okay...would have to be something unreal to pull you away from an event like this...if you need help lemme know...whatever it is.

No worries! Just a change of our vacation plans. We're fine.
You guys have a blast and don't worry about it. We'll be having fun too.

Change in vacation plans! You should tell you boss you need more time off...what a valuable worker you are, etc....of course I don't guess she will go for it or you wouldn't have posted this in the first place. (kidding of course, I should talk, its not like I know if I have a chance at going yet)

If David is not organizing - I'm out on the cabin. I was mostly willing to pony up for a room so I could be there first and last nights, and have an excuse to hang out with David and Lynn. Seeing as how the rest of my regular group is on the river - I'll just stay there the whole time. Bummer - as our small group that almost had this last year had dibs on this year due to the owners slight mistake in renting it out twice.

Argh, Im arriving 3 days before the cabin is open and it doesnt make much sense to bring all the camping gear and then break it all down for the cabin....Looks like this plan wont work for me and the 2 people coming up with us.

hmm, reversal! Oh well, more room for me! :)

No - you're stopping off in South Carolina first :flipoff2:.

Lets get this back on track.*******************************************

I have talked with my VP (Alan) and hey has agreed to take over the cabin arangements. Since he is not close to a computer I'm posting this for him.

1st post up if your planning on staying at the cabin.

2nd post up the dates your planning on staying.

3rd Alan will pay David the $100 dollars deposit.

4th if there are not enough interested in staying then all the people who responded that they were staying and now are not will be responsible for paying Alan back your share of the deposit.

Now for my own words. The house sleeps 18 people. There are or were only 6 people who had either a soft or hard commitment outside of the Florida group that wanted to stay at the cabin. From what I can tell (Alan, Dan, Heather, David, Lyn, John (maybe) Ken and his wife (though they will be in an RV) with David and Lyn out there are only 3 or 4 people outside the Florida group who are staying at the cabin.

So from what I do know that are still confirmed from the Florida group are Capt Jim, Mike Mcinnis, Todd B, Chad.

Thats a total of about 8 to 10 people staying at the cabin. If it's only 400 for the whole week then thats 40 a person. Personally just because a house can sleep 18 people doesn't mean you want 18 people in a house for a week. No matter how big the house is things can and will get a little cramped. Max I would think you would want is 12.

You could always pay 40 dollars or so and have the piece of mind that there will be a bed with roof over to go to if for some reason it pours the whole week.

Marshall, I agree that commitment is necessary. I'll commit to the $40 to secure my spot, regardless of whether I come all week or only some of it. My plans are fluid right now because of work, but dammit...I'm coming if I have anything to say about it.

Marshall,
Just a heads up, I posted last week that myself, Mike M and Brian F were out for the cabin. We never heard back from one-legged Chad so he was never included. I haven't talked to Jim or Bill since last week, and I'm not sure what there current plans are either. Like I mentioned to David, if you guys end up in a bind, we can throw a few bucks at you so you aren't left in the s***ter outta pocket.

-Todd B

Thanks

Thanks Alan and Marshall and all attendees.
As for the deposit dough, just deduct my share of eventual costs
after the event and I'll get with Alan afterwards to square it up.
I still want to pay my share. Heck, I was ready to kiss the deposit
goodbye anyway. LOL...I'll take any fair rebate after deductions
or make up any shortfall. Heck, throw in the cost of a six pack of
Coronas on me while ya'll are at it.
Capt'n still has a few good cigars/turkey/starter fluid I left at MLK. ;)
If any is left :) maybe he'll throw those in for the parties. If not
I'll send a "care" package along for the attendees. :grinpimp:

Marshall,

Ken and I (and our pups) will be staying at Crawford's....full hook-ups for the Princesses, don't you know??

David and Ken discussed our ability to drive the RV to the cabin, however, access to transport a 40' motorhome to the cabin location is currently unknown. We prefer to hang with the UC gang and will relocate camp, if at all possible, but for planning purposes we've made arrangements to park at Crawford's.

Just A skinny 10mm away

MArshall:

I'm in for the $40! I'm a 10mm thread away from having the %$#@*&^% fj40 from usable (is that a word?)!

You fellers from my ol' state are welcome to come back and party with us (and I hope you do). Welcome any new UC members who have never done an outing with us.

Troll: It's just a "thing"!

I am in...all week.
