I would find the thread size of the drain plug and run a piece of pipe out of the enclosure with a ball valve somewhere in the line so that all you have to do is open the valve.

(Deletes about 600 words of rambeling)

if I 90 out from the drain fitting I think I might just be able to make that work, the drain plug is almost directly behind the battery(2 inches) and facing into it.

Ran it about 5 hours today to get the break in done with, going to drop the oil tomorrow, take the plug to town and start collecting fittings. Figure I am goign to have fun cleaning all that mess out when I get home, the way it is now there is no way to get it to drain nicely into a pail. going to just have to throw kitty litter under it. That is one thign I will give the hondas, they are better thought out for maintenance, I don't know if they are 1000 dollars better thought out though.

And with as little oil as it holds I think I might be able to use a boat fuel primer bulb to pump the base out.

Will an 85 pickup short bed bolt up the same as a 85 long bed?

They'll bolt up the same way 6 bolts if I remember right. You just might have to cut and relocate the bed mounting points depending on whether your using the short box frame or long.

IF i READ THE ? can u swap beads most likely not without relocating mount points

I have a 85 4wd with the long bed and found a 85 2wd short bed in decent shape both single cab wandering if the swap was a direct bolt up or easier swap. Looked for answer but no luck yet.

No not a direct bolt on swap. The mounting points are stretched on the long bed if memory serves me right so you'd have to relocate them to make it work but then you'd have other things to look at the longer frame and axle set further back. My brothers 85 LB had a two piece rear drive shaft with a hanger bearing as well.

WB SB 103" overall length 176.6"

WB LB 112" " " " " " 186.2"

So might a 2wd fit a 4wd if they were but long beds.

Nicole camry is having some problem, the engine starts up but stops immediately:mad:

I know that the efi on the 4runner will cause that if there is a connection issue between it and the afm.

check fuel pressure

power to coil when key is on start & also run mode

temp sensor for ECM

idle air control valve

need to determine if its loss of fuel or ignition or management

I'm sure if I looked I could find the answers but I am in a lazy kind of mood and I'm sure more than one of you has an answer for me, so......

How much of an angle should the shackles be at on my 40 with a 3" or 4" lift? Also, what does a shackle reversal do for you?

I am not an expert but...........shackle angle is going to be determined by how long your springs are compared to your hangers. I have had springs with great angles and some that were completely vertical from the day they were installed (complete kits, IE: Iron Man, JT Outfitters, SOR, and OME are some of the ones that I have had).

As far as shackle reversal some say that it is completely BS and doesn't help at all. I find that at 75 mph shackle reversal helps you not have to pay as much attention to the road (especially when you hit a dip in the road). I have had 3 40's with shackle reversal and I think 4 without. The bad thing about shackle reversal is that it covers up your vin #'s and if you wanted another inch or two up front you couldn't just go out and buy longer shackles for a cheap lift. I say this having one 40 with and one 40 without currently. If I was using a 40 as an offroad vehicle, I wouldn't even consider shackle reversal, and it really is a waste of time and $$$. Also, if you smash a shackle reversal it seems that it would be more coin to repair than just changing out a shackle. I am sure the local experts will chime in and correct me.:D

I guess I wasn't as lazy as I thought. I started looking at some threads with these same questions. I still don't understand the whole reversal thing but it was more for fun. Not really concerned about it. What had me concerned is doing the spring swap next Friday. I wanted to make sure that the shackles are going to be the right (or an appropriate) length. If Larry is correct, the current lift is a 3" with the front shackles almost completely vertical and I am swapping to a 4" lift. I guess I need to lift one of the fronts corners off the ground and measure the spring to see if the 4" springs are the same length as the 3". In theory I believe I want the springs to be longer so that the shackle angle is greater for a softer ride and better articulation, right? Or else I need to move the hanger to move the spring forward?

Or just beat the s*** out of them until they sag a little.:flipoff2:
