Tapatalk Not Working with IH8MUD --- Just Me?

Is there a way, using web browser, to automatically go directly to the first unread message in a watched thread?

Maybe I am missing it.

click the thread link...it should automatically take you to the first unread post. It has been buggy lately, still chasing why.

Beyond disappointing. Who carries their tablet with them to work on cruiser, visit the John, after church, at restaurant... Nobody.

The web version totally sucks on iPhone 6 Plus. If that's the only game in town then, uh, play ball.

For me, my usage will go down by 90-95%. Same for others I'm sure. No more clicking on banners. Less business for vendors. Everybody will feel it one way or the other.

Hopefully more users will speak up.

279 of nearly 10k monthly users access via Tapatalk. Under 3%. I'll bet 75% of those users access via web browser as well.

Your banners from your Vendor account NEVER appeared on Tapatalk, since they had no means of displaying them. Supporting Vendors in particular should appreciate actually targeting their customers with the ads they pay for.

FYI, I processed your Vendor cancellation request...I assume that was your financial protest to the removal of Tapatalk.

I constantly use my Android S5 with the Chrome browser to access the site. I can even access the Clubhouses and the Classifieds. Surpriseingly, it even worked fairly well while sharing a Verizon cell tower at KOH this week with tens of thousands of other cell users.

Yep. It took four tries just to compose this reply because Chrome wasn't playing nice on the S5. At least I can still read Expo on the porcelain chair. Not a welcome change...

I just downloaded tapatalk a few days ago. I was very impressed with how streamlined and organized it was. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. This was disappointing. I hope things will work out.

I never downloaded Taptalk. I re-loaded the old MUD app from my laptop onto my new phone last fall. It was originally downloaded years ago but was no longer on the app store for quite some time. I figured something was going to change at some point. And it has.

I am using my iphone6s plus right now as well as my laptop. The phone is unbelievably slow. But that can be any number of things. I'll try it some more tomorrow.

My mobile browser works fine with IH8MUD, mind you I use a BlackBerry, so..... I guess I represent the 0.01%

Are there plans to bring back the ih8mud app then? Replying to posts is not as friendly as Tapatalk was with a browser. Actually really sux withba browser. Thanks for all your efforts and if you ever need a hand almost 20 years IT experience.

I've never used tapatalk per se, but really love(s) the mud app. It's super convenient to use and IMO the most efficient way to photos, since like many most my photos are taken with my phone.

The App that was discontinued 2 years ago WAS Tapatalk...just simply branded.

I found the app, not the branded tapatalk, to be especially good for posting pictures. Maybe I'm missing things, but using the mobile chrome browser, it's difficult or nearly impossible to post a picture from the phone.

I would even post pics from the phone, than go back and edit and add text. Now I'm not sure what I'll do.

Ahh.. Woody, it's your forum, but.... Mobile web browsing is TEDIOUS on a phone, and I don't have a tablet. Been using the old App for years. Although you say it was tapatalk, the interface was way better than the tapatalk app itself, which I detest. I actually DO go on MUD less these days from the phone (on the PC now). It's way slower on Chrome, just to navigate to the teeny links, etc. Yeah, there's classifieds, but they don't get used THAT often in comparison. Anyway, sorry TapaTalk isn't working out on your end. The app was by far the most convenient way to access MUD. Certainly not a deal killer, but it will impact time on the forum for me.

Also a big disappointment to me... I loved having my MUD threads show up in the Tapatalk Feed along with other things I'm interested. As we've discussed before, i can't access the website from my work PC and when I'm trying to do stuff the iPad was the easiest for me (LTE on iPad away from my corp IT security). I found tapatalk was the best way to access it because as others have commented, as much as you think the web version on a Tablet is good, it just really isn't. It also has consistent navigation across the forums I do use (Expo, MTBR, etc) and seeing in a MUD thread in my feed guarantees I'll back more often than if I have wait to get away from my corporate laptop to get on MUD.

I'd agree that Tapatalk has their issues and I've suffered through their App crap for a long time, but lately the full forum app has been really stable and pretty good in general.

Please reconsider adding the support back in... thanks for what you do.

I am similar to others on here I didnt realize how much I jumped on the forum to read a thread or two until the mobile app then taptalk quit working. Im an iphone/ipad user. Now when my fiance is talking about stuff I dont care to much about I am stuck listening

Maybe one day a separate app store app? like before the apple store once had?.

I have to work with people and places that make things more difficult then they have to be, hope one day a mobile app is easy to use

Looks like my MUD time just got cut in half. Too bad, Tapatalk is like 50 times easier to use on iphone than the Safari version.

I have been picking up my phone. Check to see if the app is working then putting it down. I notice I now use Mud less and open the Safari, Facebook and YouTube app more often. Im just looking for something to fill the void. Hope everything works out!

P.S. It's not that bad on my 6s Plus.

Disappointing decision. The other forums I frequent support it, so I'm not sure why they would make different decisions than this one. I didn't pay to be here, though, so I feel no entitlement to it working the way I want. The loss of eyeballs has to be considered, too, though. This decision will greatly reduce the amount of time I can spend on the forum.

Disappointing.... I'm sure I'll find something else to fill the void as I only used the app on IPhone/IPad. Guess I'll waste the hours away dreaming about grips, stocks and scopes rather than sliders, skid plates and bumpers...!

Yea, very disappointing. Some people turn to porn, some to grips stocks and scopes, some to politics, but we all spend out time somewhere else. For me, I have 2 80's, and the few times I make it to the 80's forum I notice that there aren't as many posts, and the "what did you with your 80" thread, yea, it's fallen down in the number of posts. All of these things relate, but the person running the show isn't seeing it. As with most internet "things" they evolve or they go away and are replaced by something that gives users what they are looking for.

While you have to take my word for it, I assure you I mean no disrespect with this question: is there a means by which we might "appeal" this decision? I'm pretty new here and don't know the hierarchy or willingness of the mods to consider user input, but if ever there was a decision where I might humbly request a decision review, this would be it.
