Taking out console around gearshift

How difficult is it? Id like to clean inside the shifter area and was wondering how to get the shifter plate off. Thanks,

The cover is pretty easy to come off,but the whole console is a PITA.

Unscrew the 4wheel level knob,then try to hold the cover by the eadge of the cover and where the leather boot attaches to it and slowly pull up.Then just work your way around the edge.The cup holder is attach to it so don't brake it off.
When you get it up just disconnect the electric plug from the three switches,there are easy to popup.
