Since Don’s LV project went WAAAYYY beyond the original estimate of time (and budget) Don put Brett Paxton (Paxton Auto Body Owner) in charge of chasing down the last parts and keeping the project moving forward. I have been helping where I can. I visited with Don and Brett and saw the “crusty cruise” 45LV. It’s beyond stunning and might be one of the nicest examples of an LV restoration in existence. Don is doing ok, just focusing on other things in life while the LV gets completed.Wait... 4 years of regular updates, he went dark? Or is he on the other thread: last pieces to the puzzle '67 LV - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/last-pieces-to-the-puzzle-67-lv.1337897/ ??
I have original door plugs and the original cigarette lighter and can take pictures of them if it would help. Here's what happened over the last few months.
1. The exhaust system was completed.
Parts still needed
2. The oval plugs on the doors (access holes). Still trying to locate originals or reproductions. Every LV owner needs these.
3. OEM Cigarette lighter
4. Period correct looking battery cables.
4. Awaiting Big Window Carb rebuild to return. (2nd time getting the carb rebuilt and tested) Hopefully the engine will fire soon after the carb is re-installed.
It's pretty darn close...but all of this started in 2019.
Here's a link to Brett Paxton's request for parts for this LV. Paxton parts request- 67LV
That's it! Exactly like mine.View attachment 3723191
Is this an original? The symbol is an "S" and I think the shape is consistent with other knobs on the dash.
I realized mine is missing. No smoking in my LV anyway!View attachment 3723191

Does "S" stand for sigarette? Asking for a friendView attachment 3723191
