Started putting the Dakar OME lift kit in my BJ74 today. Got the back done with no real issue. Will have to get longer flex brake line though.

Doing the front tomorrow but I am wondering about the sway bar. Do I need to get longer connecting bolts on the sway bar to accommodate the lift? Or does it just rotate down (doesn't seem right)? Will be doing a lot of on road driving so I definitely want the sway bar.

This is what most people use in thei 3" lifts around here, it's basically an aluminum block with longer bolts:

I'm usre you can get a local shop to fabricate something similar for you.

I took the swaybar totally out of my BJ74 when I installed the lift kit. Handled fine on the road, and don't have to fiddle with disconnects on the trail. I guess the legality of that would be the question, but it certainly didn't feel like it needed the swaybar.

I agree with Stone! I had my 74 just lifted two weeks ago by installing extension shackles and Pro-comp es1000 shocks, it handled well and the guys who did it said that they don't normally need the sway bars.

My sway-bar is where it should be : Removed. On road handling is great with Heavies up front and Med. in the back. Off road my 74 Bow ties.

Where did you get your lift from?

Thanks how much was it?
