the PO of my fj55 included a ton of parts (some new, some old). One that stuck out was a pair of nice shocks. Not sure if they are front or rear or even fitted for stock FJ55 or some type of SOA setup.

Can anyone assist?

they are Sway-A-Way RaceRunner shocks. I also have a couple pair of brand new looking shackles.

Thanks!

I've been looking at the Sway-A-Way website. These are definitely
2" Racerunner Emulsion Shocks with 8" travel.

Still not sure if these are suitable for a stock replacement, or in what configuration I would want to use them.

The FJ55 is a stud to eye mount for the front and eye to eye for the rear, this should at least tell you where they are for ;-). You'd have to measure the compressed vs. extended length to tell if they are appropriate for your lift, easiest way is to compare them to what's on there currently (assuming sized correctly). The 55 shackles are a 18mm pin in the pre-'79 width 40 shackle, they are getting harder to find so you may want to hold on to them. Saw some pics of the beast down in he pig section, good looking piggy :-)

Cheers!

Thanks tucker.

So these are definately front, which the pig needs (the fronts are TERRIBLE). Would you match them up with another pair from the same company for the rears?

assuming the proper lengeth and travel for stock suspension.

.

It's really up to you not knowing how expensive these are, the rears are actually easier since they are the same shocks as FJ40s. I'd go that way or a good set of Bilsteins or OME Nitrocharger sport ;-). Looks like you have a 2"-2.5" lift to me -

Looks le ~299 brand new. They don't look worn or used. The setup is definately not soa.

I'm not sur what stock looks like, how can I determine if its lifted and how? Would this just be something like add a leaf, different shackles? I'm really noob with 4x4
