Love my 40 but driving it mostly on roads around town. I know it's not supposed to ride like a Cadillac but can I get some suggestions for a more comfortable, softer ride in the city?

Right now I have stock height shackles, Old Man Emu Dakkar Springs (2.5in) and Old Man Emu Nitro shocks.

the OME nitro shocks are not known for ride quality...replacing those would be a start......

Old Man Emus under a daily driver '40 are excessively harsh/stiff.

Mark...

Well if money is no object then go for the Rancho 9000 adjustables with the in cab adjuster. You can set the ride from Caddy soft to kidney stiff with the push of a button. Installation is a bitch, what with running the lines, mounting the compressor and all, but is worth it. I have run these in the past on a Pathfinder and will run them on my 40 when it's done.

What psi and what tires are you running?
I have the same set up on mine with 33x10.50 bfgs o0n stock wheels and dont mind it at all, I only run 26 to 28 psi in the tires to prevent them from riding on the centers. If you are on harsh tires or excessive pressure it will cause you greif.

Welcome.

Are you using stock shackles, after market shackles or what?

If the shackle is pinching the bushing, it will not allow the shackle and spring to work properly.

Other than installing a link/coil-spring suspension system under the truck, it is going to ride rough.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will at least swap out the shocks and then try some of the other options.

You can get some slip pads for the leaves, if yours are worn out. Also try tossing a bag or two of gravel in back. Might make some difference in the meantime.
