I just recently picked up a 1994 80 series land cruiser to take on the pan American highway next year and I am looking for some advice. We are adding a campteq and building out the interior to live in for the journey, we will be adding a swing arm rear bumper and obviously some extra weight. We are wanting to replace our suspension before we go but I am conflicted I have heard a mixture of reviews of different brands and figured here was the best place to go. I was initially planning on going with a 2 inch OME lift with soft springs and adding airbags to dial everything in although I have heard mixed reviews on OME and wanted some opinions and advice. Looking for what would be the best for this trip being mainly highway and obviously some off-road (nothing crazy no crawling) but with reliability being one of the biggest factors and comfort. Thank you in advance!

I would recommend a dual rate coils.
Dobinson, Tough Dog, TourFlex all have dual rate options in 2"
OME 861/862 are dual rate stock replacements.

Dobinsons. Call them directly and talk to Leonardo. He owns an 80 Series and knows their products well. He helped me get dialed in. Good luck.

Ideally you'd get springs to do all the work if possible, and have the airbags as backup for just a little bit of support if needed. That way if an airbag goes out when you're in BFE, the truck won't be squatting really bad.

Ultimately coil selection is all based on the added weight of the vehicle, and the desired lift height. The lower the better if you're adding a lot of weight up high.
