I can only go if I has a place to take a shower... im looking in the seacrest lodge

Sycamore hot springs resort would be ideal for you but it's 15 min north on the way to SLO.

Not to be petty, but in the interest of accuracy, Sycamore would only be 5 minutes north of Seacrest. Slo is only about 10 minutes north of Seacrest (pismo proper) From the onramp to Oceano Dunes, yes Sycamore would be around 15 minutes north by the time you get through town and such.

Sycamore is very nice, probably my favorite, hotel/motel around, but not close to the water at all. Also one of the more expensive places to stay around here. Incredible restaurant with a great bar. All rooms have natural Hot spring water hot tubs. If you wanted to be close to the water and have a pretty open budget look into the Sea Venture. Right on the water and all rooms have hot tubs (not natural hot spring water). what criteria are you looking for Monnie? I still think Oxford is the best deal around. Affordable, clean and newer, good location with the best Sushi around more or less across the street. i think they have a hosted "welcome" bar too. I would still skip the Sea Crest. I would not stay there for free, especially right now. Construction noise at 8am.

He is dead on. Depends what you're looking for. I think this event will be perfect for your FJ...

Any of the locals know of a cheap long board for sale? I'm 6'5" and 210 lbs and I'd like to grab one for SnT.

check craigslist from LA to SLO

we're bound to see tons of cruisers on the freeway as we get out there.

Don't forget, honk, flash, and tune in to 146.460 (or whatever the new Mud frequency is...) :)

(and for those of you still using CBs... well, grow up! This ain't the 70s no mo'... :D)

Any "remote" hot springs to check out down that way?

Who wants Moose Drool???

:D

Water temp out at pismo is usually in the mid to low 50's I would say, haven't been out in the water for a while though. It is bearable in a 3/2 wetsuit. I used to kayak out there all the time, just offshore it is pretty calm.

I'll have some Pliny the Elder...

There should be an official SnT Beer Swap! Everyone bring their favorite regional beers...

#299!

Yeah !!! from Nocal or Washington or Oregon right? I had some of that, guest beer, at my favorite Rouge Public House in North Beach SF. My part time work gig has me in SF and the Rouge Public house is one of my favs. The Piny the elder surprised me as really good... but I'm still a Rouge Shakespeare Stout knida guy when can't get my Guinness Stout.

But still, I'd drink Tequila all the time if I wasn't afraid of being redundant... :D

:beer::beer::beer:

what is the water temp? If I dont work, I am thinking about bringing the hobiecat

Paul, bring the Cat, we'll all have a good time watching your nuts shrink to pecans.

Seriously, if there is no swell launching and landing will be cake, if there is a swell, it will be impossible but very entertaining for the hecklers on on shore.

Three posts in a row, is that a record?

Katherine and I just watched Tina Turner live in San Jose (her B-day present, I know, what a guy). It was pretty cool as we were close to the stage--- but not tooo close.;p

Anyway I was thinking (dangerous) about a Land Cruiser Yahtzee game for SNT. It goes like this...

I give you cards with a list of various makes of Land Cruisers. You must find the cruisers and get the owners to sign next to the appropriate line item. ie; pre-'70 FJ40, FJ60, FJ 45, FZJ 80, Lexus 450 (pink panties-cough, cough), 100 series, FJC, etc.

If you find the cruisers and get ALL the signatures (a good way to meet people eh?) then you're entered in a raffle for FREE prizes! The person with the winning card AND all the cruiser owners who signed off on the various cruiser categories will ALL be winners for some cool prizes!

Fun or not???
What do you think?

yes, FREE raffle, for SNT Yahtzee and just for participating in the Mob Run (Sat Morning). :bounce:

No registration, no sign-up fees, just show up!

Plus, I'm predicting less than $3.30 for gas!

Looks like a record breaking year...

Note: I'm placing shirt orders on Monday night.. 10/20/08
