I would love to bring my 1977 FJ40 up there but we live in San Diego so I think it would be a 3 day drive. :-)

Instead we will drive up in my wife's 80 and pack in the two dogs, kid, cooler and other misc. gear.

Look forward to meeting everyone up there.

I've always used 33 X 9.50 X 15 BFG a/t's on all my 3B's. Robbing power isn't that big an issue as there isn't much power to begin with in my opinion. You'll be good on the straights and downhills - a little slower into a headwind and up steep hills. 9.50's are better in my opinion as they are easier on the steering and just less rubber on the road to slow you down. A/T's will last longer than MT's especially if you are driving alot on the hwy. If the sway link bushings are worn - replace them, very cheap to do and will make your tall cruiser feel not so wobbly.

Just my opinions of course.

Have a great trip - looks like fun. I think I'll try out that Rubython in Alberta next year if they'll have me.

Regards.

I am either going with those exact tires, for my BJ or some Coopers that have almost the eact same tread pattern, it just depends on price difference.

Let me know what you come up with as far as price goes. Usually the biggest part of a good deal can be had though the balance and install.

I was overwhelmed by Pismo last year, a little out of place for my first ever big cruiser meet.

This year I am looking forward to the event and hope to get thier early and meet more people.

Its looking 50 50 at this point, thought I had it in the bag for this run?

there is a chance i might be deliverin ga cruiser down to California and if i am then i will be there. if not then Berni and i are planning on flying in for the event.
as for tires, i was running 35" Goodyear ATS last year and they did very well...
cheers

And I always though fall was suposed to be quiet. Not again this year: Hazmat course all week, CISM workshop that weekend, then back at work on Monday.

Anyone on the fence...go if you can. It is a blast and PismoJim is a great host...

agreed, the trip to Pismo was one of the highlites of last year for me. unfortunately i can not make it this year. those that can, take the time, it is worth it.
cheers

I will be at Pismo this year, Went last year and had a blast. For those of you out here with Diesel Cruisers that are going I will be giving out free "Toyota Diesel Power" stickers and some other Schwag from West Coast Cruisers.

I did this at Moab earlier this year and found out that some that wanted stuff did not want to stop me to get some or could not find me. Well if you see me please stop me it is no bother really :)

I am not sure what I am taking to Pismo this year, I can tell you it will be one of my diesel but I will be there from Friday until Monday morning.

Hope to see you there, I think we had an excellent showing of Diesel Cruisers last year and hopefully this year will be even more :D

Cheers,

Michael

Anyone who is attending Pismo from Canada feel like carting something back? I believe Herb from the RMLCA is looking to have a bumper come back from that area. E-mail him Herb Peyerl [hpeyerl@beer.org] if you can help.

Thanks
