The sliding privacy cover is stuck. will not move forward or back manually. It will move when i open or close the sunroof. However, the privacy cover and the sunroof are offset about 3 inches and it will not let the sunroof close all the way. As soon as the privacy cover closes the sunroof stops. leaving that gap.

I have removed the head liner and the bolts on the side of the sunroof. It seems to be holding on to something in the front. Not sure and do not want to break anything to make matters worse.

I have found another sunroof locally, if the best advice is to scrap it. But I still cannot remove it.

Please advise.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Did you ever get this sorted out? Mine just started doing the EXACT same thing (ie: sunroof will open but shade is out of sync. When you go to close, shade reaches closed position and glass stuck open about 6 inches). Mine is a 96 LX450/80 series.

I ended up replacing the sunroof. Even when i had it off, i could not get the shade to close. It was permanently stuck.

Good luck, because it is a pain in the rump to remove. I did give me the opportunity to clean the the headliner while i had it out and it looks great.

UGH!!! I really appreciate the info. Another thread indicated that some of the trim broke off and jammed things up. Turns out, I just looked at mine again and there are 100 pieces of trim between glass and shade!! I think I may have found the problem. When button bushed- it sails back and forth w/no problems... However, glass still stuck 6" open while shade fully closed. Gonna go break out the hammer and see how things turn out lol. I may do like some have mentioned here and just rhino-line over the glass once fully closed LOL! A little hoopty, but we don't use sunroof much nor do I want to deal with cleaning / maintaining tracks and drains every 3-4 months as recommended here on many threads. Again- thank you!
