My kids and I love the cruiser trips! But what I’m really looking for is hard to reach places with water. Don’t mind a five or six hours, or longer, drives; don’t care how badly the road sucks.
After a year or so lurking around you guys I’ve finally figured out what attracts me to the cruiser. I want to go to beautiful, hard to reach places where no camper or trailer will make it. Someplace like Turkey creek, but without the easy way in/out.
Any suggestions for where I should be looking to head out? Pictures would be awesome.
Also, to the families that brought kids on the new years turkey creek run, my three girls had a blast! I’d like to get to recognize your handles and names so that I know which runs to make. Everything is easier with MORE kids!

I ain't telling :flipoff2:

actually, the best camping spots on water are reached by canoe only ;p

Sounds like I gotta get my lockers bought and installed to go on trips like your describing ;-)

Claudia, do tell...

Claudia,
I’ve seen the way you change a tire, you flash the baby blues at the closet couple of suckers and let them do the work! I’m looking for isolated places, not sucker infested backwoods full of manly men that don’t know the lady behind the wheel can change the tire better then they can.:flipoff2:
(Did I get the ‘emoticon’ right?)

Alvin,
I remember you well! I’ve mangled the battery joke at least a dozen times. Ellie and Sara, the twins, are 7. Haleigh is 4, but she thinks she is a triplet.
Definitely need to get together again, and not just for the girls. The only regularly bad thing I do anymore is join the boys at the cigar store every Wednesday night!
Some of us had to take off in the middle of the last night. To make up for it, Brit and I are talking about heading back to Turkey Creek in the next couple of weeks. More than likely it will just be a quick overnighter to give the kids a chance to kick around the area for awhile. I’ll give you as much heads up as I can.

You don't need lockers for the Rug Road. The best advice I can give is; get out there and wheel your rig. That will help determine how you want to use it and what mods are needed/best for the type of trails you want to run.

San Carlos reservation...

Lots of places up and down the Black River. Last time we went, great fishing, the turkeys were our alarm clock, and we didn't see another soul for a week.

at what, like $14 per night per person just to camp? No thanks... Technically it's only $7/day, but that runs midnight to midnight... Fishing the black is $20 each, but again the midnight to midnight thing. I'm done fishing the Black.

Or respond to the PM I sent you and go with me and splitshot for 4 days.

Yep, that dog will hunt.

Everytime I have the same gripe, but somehow justify the expense by the better fishing and no people. I think the screwed up fees help keep the masses out.;) We dont go every year, but it's a treat when finances permit.

Alvin,
PM Sent. Not enough heads-up to make it four days. My life, which I admit needs to be downsized, doesn’t allow for a night or two without more planning than I normally have left in me! That said, I’m going to look into staying until Monday.

Suggestions for hard to reach camping ...
Murphy Hogback or Candlestick camp spots on White Rim, 100mi trail and as a difficulty bonus the camp site permits are hard to get. Dollhouse in the Maze, is even more remote and harder to get.
