Looking for a quality riveter... it will see a lot of action, any suggestions?

Thanks-

Check MSC or McMaster-Carr. They have a large range of different types, including heavy duty industrial models. Both have website catalogs you can buy directly from...

What kind of riveter are you looking for (rivet gun, pneumatic rivet squeezer, pneumatic rivet puller, hand rivet puller, etc)?

Looking to crack off about a gazillion stainless pop rivets.

I had no idea there was such a selection.

Thanks-

Okay, that makes things much easier. There are options like everything. If you're only planning on using it for one project go cheap. However if you stand a good chance of using it often get a decent quality unit.

Here are a few on eBay:

The last one I'd ask for pics but it and the 1st one are very good quality units. The middle is on par with what is available from Sears.

There are many sources that have decent quality units available for under $100. I would avoid the Harbor Freight stuff and stick to Sears and other tool retailers. Just run a Google search for pneumatic rivet-puller and you'll find good stuff.

Sears – not sure of the mfg. but for $150 it’s not junk

The Yard Store – reasonable prices

Aircraft Spruce – Under $100

US Tool – serious $$$

what exactly are you doing?

with that many to shoot, you should you consider goiung with solid rivets. they produce a higher quality end product as far as apearance and strength and can be cheaper per rivet, but they require slighlty more skill and planning and most importantly access to the back side.

monel rivets (used in stainless sheet) can be shot up to 3/16" with the common 4x rivet gun, though pushing it,
