I have been hearing squeaks from driver side rear suspension. I got under the car and found spring misaligned. Does anyone has any suggestion of how could it has happened? I did some intermediate wheeling in the past weekend, but it doesn't seem to make sense of why the spring would end up in that position.

Thank you,

Joshua

Sure, if you had a ton of serious droop, the top (bump stop) could come out of the metal centering ring. Or it could have been installed incorrectly. You need to pay a lot of attention to getting it aligned when reassembling the rear suspension.

It's really, really tough to get a spring to fall out of it's bucket with the shocks and sway bars attached.

What's the blue thing inside the coil? Might have something to do with it outside of the coil was not properly installed.

Inside the spring is the Airbag man helper suspension. Well in order to install the air suspension helped, my stock suspension was cut to 1/4 of the original length.

They cut your coils?

I wonder if the air bag, once inflated, pushes harder than the coil spring was able to provide.

I saw that on a friend's 4Runner years ago. I would take it back to whoever installed the airbags, because that setup is proving to not be very reliable.

I think Rob is right. I bet they installed the wrong helper bags. The CR5050HP are the right bags for “no lift” (stock springs / 2720 rear springs). The CR5051HP would be the correct bags for the .75”-2” lift. I bet they installed the CR5052HP bags for larger lifts. They will physically fit, do you have any squeaking sounds coming from the rear? Also, max PSI is not 99psi. It’s more like 65-75psi, these are all possible culprits.

Yes there are squeaking! I have been bothered by it so much.... are the airbags causing the squeaks to your knowledge?

I have BP51 on front and back, not sure whether they are 1.5” or 2” lift. And I bought the bags directly from Airbag Man AU. Parts Number CR5151HP

What rear springs do you have?

You have the wrong airbags. You need the CR5051HP not the CR5151HP. The CR5151HP are for 40-50mm (~2”) but you probably have ARB springs with .75” lift. Get the CR5051HP and it will fix all three issues.

Thank you Eric, I will have the airbags removed. I’ll post a respond after remedying, and mention whether the squeak is gone or not.

So now the 2723 springs (440lbs constant load) along with the airbags spring helpers are out, and the 2725 springs are in. The rig rides much better, however, although some noises are gone, there is still a rattle/squeak noise from the rear. I am starting to think could it be the auxiliary tank? Does anyone know if the 40gal aux tank can cause that kind of noises? or KDSS? The noise is more likely to occur in low speed under braking.

Thank you all,

Joshua

Very well could be the aux tank if they didn't cut brackets off during the install. It was not properly identified as a step in the instructions in earlier versions.

The squeak on the 12.5g is different because it's tucked up so tight. We cut the tabs and then install sheet rubber as a barrier, which has worked great. The 40g really isn't tucked up to tight so I doubt the LRA is the issue. Where are you in CA? May be worth a visit to @orangefj45, @Dissent, or @TRAIL TAILOR to get that thing shaken down

UPDATE: The suspension noise has been diagnosed and fixed. It was coming from the right passenger rear struct top mount. The bore on the frame for top of the struct to go in was claimed to have enlarged due to improper install. It was fixed by insulating the struct.
